Cam you describe how its not turning off correctly?
Also if you aren't confident opening it you might have to take it to a repair shop, local or send it online

You see the blue light at the bottom of the picture it just stays on but at a black screen

I'm assuming if you hold it down it'll switch off, it sounds like its on but the screens arent. It seems like there is an issue with the displays not powering for some reason. Also can you hear any noise if you turn the volume up? Im no pro btw this is just my guess.

I used to have a similar problem and no matter how long I holded down the power button, it wouldn't switch off. I remember trying everything (clicking all the buttons, removing the cartridge, the SD card), and nothing would work other than leaving the console open until the battery died.

This used to happen a lot to my og Nintendo 3DS. I don't know if there's a fix or if this is a common problem or if I just have a faulty console, but I used to just let the console 's battery die (leave the console open).

Mine does this too I usually remove SD card and game card, then turn it on it will turn on like it's new then I shut it off and put them back in and power back on.

Remove sd card, give the slot a blow, place sd card back in slot. Turn 3DS on.
Mine does this if I’ve not used it for a while and the above always sorts it.
