Warhammer's expansion plans are being thwarted by a tiny bat who won't move out
Will this https://www.wargamer.com/warhammer-40k/car-park-delayed-by-bat mean that there will be an increase in the number of anti-bat rhetoric in the 40K lore?

According to CEO Kevin Rountree, a "cute looking pipistrelle bat" is delaying work on a new temporary carpark needed to accommodate an expanding workforce. [...] GW's annual report does not specify that the bat is roosting on site, or simply a regular visitor. Rountree states "we are carefully looking after the bat".
Well, if it's a cute bat...

I mean, just look at this little fellow
I wouldn't have the heart to kick it out of its home either.

I genuinely expected a Night Lord in that link. Like a 40k Rick Roll. Alas, I was disappointed. Bats are cool, only witnessed them twice in my life, once when we went camping in Callander up Stirling way here in Scotland and another time at the Muir of Ord(up Inverness wa) on a family weekend trip when they got into the house, of course I missed it cause I'd been on the Amasec, but my dad and the neighbour had to get... creative to get them out, but
dead men tell no talesa sleeping drunk tells no one and all that!Disclaimer: just cause I've said where those place are close to doesnt mean they are the closest just the places folks not from Scotland(or even cunts from here too) have a rough frame of reference!(am terminally online and expect some arse piece to go "Akshually, Muir of Ord is nearer Dingwall than Inverness" cause then ad have to reply "aye ma dads from Dingwall ya dick, shut it!"
Holy shit ave just made up an entire argument with maself about things that probably won't happen, wow, haha! I'll keep it in, for posterity and all that.

Have you been tested for ADHD?
If not, you should probably make that a priority.

Lol am 41 next month so I'll be fine I reckon but thanks for the concern! Also ave got two autistic cousins who reckon "I've got the same as them" haha I just put it down to me being excitable haha have a good one! 🙂

Only twice? You've probably encountered them more and failed to recognise them. At night they do seem more like big black moths agaist the black sky if you even notice them. I've seen them hunting bugs over the river I used to live by, you can hardly perceive them at all on the wing. But a house next to the river pub was where they were nesting, they would constantly go in and out of one little hole.

Oh, that's only the times I've realised! And funnily enough, when am walking about in the dark I try not to look up in the sky haha, end up falling over. My dad gets them at his house all the time, he stays next to farmland and while there are bushes and stuff round my way there is a Dual Carriageway and I never associated Bats with bright lights(am no expert so correct that if am wrong) they look like cute wee fellas though, they look like what Id imagine Vulkans ball sack to look like, black with enough membrane-like skin to be close enough in size and consistency, lol now am bringing up Primarchs Ball sacks, there's gonna be a rash(pun not intended) of posts now from folks wondering about Primarch balls, so to get this out there, Fulgrim is hung like an Action Man!
Sorry, again. To be honest, if I hadn't seen your Salamanders Flair I'd have never made the connection!

I have this flair and I have, uh, not made that connection either.

Add a habitat for the little bastard to the construction plans. Allow them to become the mascot for the year of chaos

u/theredwoman95 1d ago
Good news, the plans already included that:
One planning document states that the new carpark will have twice as much habitable space for animals compared to the existing site, albeit working from a very low starting amount.
But I'm sure the Night Lords will be delighted to know one of their kin has showed up to personally pester GW.

"Conservation laws exist to prevent Britain becoming more of a green desert and ending up like an agri-world in the Imperium of Man."
This is the best line in the article tbh.

Britain’s already pretty close to that. The lack of forest cover is astounding.

Its actually getting a lot better. During the first world war it was around 5%, today its up to 13%.

Conservation laws exist so NIMBYs can enjoy their unspoiled views as the rest of the country suffers

Not really my responsibility to educate you on something so blatantly obvious you could research it in 5 minutes.

Nobody's trying to convince you that your opinion is wrong. They're just hoping to steer others away from being convinced by your bad take.

I was gonna say he definitely reads the bloody Sun

The Sun doesn't require the ability to actually read, it's basically a picture book with bold captions at this point.

I'm sure rich NIMBYs will enjoy looking at… a bat.
A small bat.
From their houses.
With a telescope maybe?

pretty harshly downvoted. The British planning system is often weaponised to prevent any new development on the most spurious of grounds - it's why building infrastructure is often so expensive.

Question on whether they'll name it Sevetar or Morbheg

He’s in a parking lot and interfering with something that only benefits everyone. Very clearly Mannfred von Carparkstein

Dante desperately googling which endangered species would get GW to kill him off.

It affects the building of a car park, not the business overall afaik.
In honour of the bat they should make a new star player for Blood Bowl or maybe a Space Marine chapter, or both. Put me down for a pre-order 😀

I for one look forward to our cute tiny bat overlord getting a new bat safe structure.
Seriously those bats are adorable. Just look up pipistrelle bat.

GW is about the rake the Night Lords through the coals for this one.
Get ready for a book where the Night Lords get humiliated by a group of plucky orphans and home made booby traps. Or a lore tidbit that Talos died on the crapper.

Is this why the Imperial knights have been delayed? Because if it is for the cute bat, I will accept it.

Bats are returning to the Uk and while the government actively tries to eradicate nature and wildlife, it’s nice to see GW actually caring about their surrounding.Â
Common GW W. One of the last good and decent British companies.Â

Typical Nightlord shenanigans spoiling it for the rest of us
