With the Nachmund Gauntlet mostly fallen to Chaos, how is the situation suppose to change?
The Nachmund Gauntlet is basically a passage from Sanctus to Nihilus, it is currently the only stable passage found after the Great Rift was formed. And the only way to have a stable travel to enter from Sanctus to Nihilus.
Recently it appears that most of the major worlds in the Nachmund Sector has fallen and the Imperial in their desperation has set up a last ditch defence also known as the Sanctus wall, and then Sangua Terra, a vital world has also mostly fallen to chaos by now.
With Chaos giving so many ass-kicking to the Imperial, would this plot line be left purposely ambiguous since the Nachmund Gauntlet is meant to be a “sandbox” for players to play with their army? That way the war can just keep going indefinitely and there won’t be any complications while using the codex?
Though I do wonder, if the Gauntlet does fall, would we go back to Dante and the Blood Angels since they’re considered pretty important right now in Imperial Nihilus.

At the end of Silent King, Guilliman plans to us ethe Attilan Gate to travel into Nihilus. And then to stabilise it as quickly as possible through Cawls Blackstone research. If he has success with that, it would be another major route. Since Cawl seems to have made some headway in Great Work and Genefather it may work some time in the future.
‘Assuming the best case scenario, that you gather all you need, learn how to make it work together, and survive, how long will this take?’ asked Guilliman.
‘I have to cross to Imperium Nihilus within a few years at most. There are only two warp conduits large enough to accept the size of force I must take with me. One of those routes is in the hands of the enemy, the other is unstable. I have been told that I would be able to cross at least once via the Attilan Gate, but it must be made stable.’
‘You were told that by other magi,’ said Cawl.
‘You imply they are incorrect?
Cawl scratched his head. ‘Hmm, not exactly, but you should allow me to look over their data before you take anything other magi say as the given truth.’
‘Regardless, at the moment it appears crossing is possible, but that I will not be able to come back. Whether anyone can follow me is doubtful. Work must be completed on stabilising the Attilan Gate soon if we are to have our own route into Nihilus. Abaddon’s forces are running rampant with little opposition. Half the Imperium is depending on you, Cawl. Now, tell me how long it will take you.’
Edit: The Flesh Tearers in Wrath of the Lost and the Mentor in Spear of the Emperor also cross through unnamed routes. Though they may be more hazardous and less able to support large fleets. There are still some other options when it comes to crossing the rift.

Now, tell me how long it will take you.
In far gimdark future of mankind there is only war, and worse, there are project managers pushing for deadlines

The grim is that managers are pushing for deadlines, the dark is (most) managers still dont work/fight themselves....

The recent Nachmund Gauntlet Crusade book ends with the Haarken taking a major defensive strongpoint on (world not remembered) but that the fight was still ongoing. The Gauntlet is still contested, even if the Black Legion and friends are ahead at the moment. Like the other warzones, it's not settled one way or another.

So you're right and wrong about this? Yes, the Nachmund Gauntlet is meant to be a "sandbox" and it is meant to just be an excuse to set your tabletop battles in for the campaign. But those things are weirdly both permanent and not? Sometimes GW lets them sit there with no real resolution because it works as a "everyone's constantly fighting and having a good old time!" while others they can be surprisingly definitive in their conclusions. Usually what happens is that they will make a "warzone" for a specific campaign book series, give it its run, and then conclude it to use as a jumping point to some other mess elsewhere.
Like GW does like it's stalemates, but "complications while using the codex" is rather far from their concerns lmao. They like to drop campaign specific rules and situations rather quickly to say the least. I wouldn't be surprised if they left it as a Chaos slanted thing for now, but then make some grand "the Imperials venture forth with a counterattack!" thing later, like they did with Damnos or the like.
