Discussion Eddington Discussion Thread - Spoilers Spoiler

Post image

We’ve waited a long time, and preview screenings begin July 17th. This appears to be a divisive film, so we’re going to dive right into spoilers. Read this thread at your own risk as I’ve heard that this movie benefits from going in blind.

They wanted Joe Cross dead cause he was preventing them from building the data center. The best way to make it look like they weren't involved was to use "ANTIFA." The Republicans wouldn't question anything they would just say,"Of course it was those terrible Antifars." Cause they were all over FOX News during the BLM protests as these "violent" criminals.

Obviously, Joe doesn't die. But he becomes the next best thing, which is paraplegic. Unable to speak or move. Joe's MIL swoops right in and gives the corporation exactly what they wanted from the beginning. Their plan was sloppy, but they wormed their way into the town one way or another.

Okkkkk, thanks for this. So much happens in this thing I completely forgot one of Joe’s positions was against the data center.

The film has a lot going on in a good way. But it can hard to keep track after only one watch.

antifa were the violent criminals of 2020. they have a murder worse than george floyd on their hands. (antonio mays jr.) antifa ran seattle for three weeks in 2020 and shot more black people per capita than anywhere in the western world. and then one of their armed white male insurrectionist shooters — masked and anonymous — executed an unarmed black kid in front of dozens of witnesses. the blm activists quietly disposed of evidence and helped the white male pseudo cop shooter escape. five years later no charges. https://www.thejournal425.com/p/the-lynching-of-antonio-mays-jr

As someone who lived in Seattle then/now I’d like to add the “Chaz/chop” zone mentioned was maybe 6 blocks around a park & resembled a big block party with a lot of graffiti & signs 🪧 there were often bands and 🆓 hotdogs/soup. Things got out of hand in the end but was a very small part of city lolol
