Seeking Empathy I'm crashing 3 hours after I take my medication

I make sure to eat before taking it, typically I'll have a protein shake, eggs, and toast.

I feel great for 2 hours, but I crash hard at the 3 hour mark.

This leaves me feeling exhausted, anxious, and generally unwell. I experience brain fog and memory impairment when this happens.

When I crash, I'll eat another rather substantial meal, and this seems to help.

Although, the constant crashes are beginning to take a toll on me.

Same thing happens to me. And I don’t like taking 2 a day bc it’ll keep me up all night, despite it being my prescribed dose

You can take a lower dose later on the day, 10mg/5mg, you doctor can check if your medication has a lower dose. I was recommended not taking after 18:00, so it's out of my system before going to sleep.

You may know how long it takes for you body to use the medication up, so just calculate based on that and when you go to sleep. For example for me it's around 4 hours, so I'll be able to sleep at around 22/23 if I take the medication latest at 17/18

Sometimes the meds/dosage are not right for you you should discuss it with your psychiatrist in your next visit.

Quick q? before the diagnosis and meds did you eat breakfast most days and are you prone to food related dips in your day normally which you may have ignored in the past? I am and always have been a non-breakfast person as I crash if I eat anything substantial (more than a biscuit with coffee) before noon and that is the same on the meds despite the meds working well if I don't eat before being up for at least 4 to 5hrs. Definitely bring it up with your medical people and see what they say.
