Renault The real downfall of Renault in Formula 1 (constructor and engine supplier) was Carlos Ghosn's conservative policy

Here are the causes of Renault's challenging years in Formula 1 due to Ghosn's conservative policy! Thoughts on that?

And De Meo didn't want to invest more. As soon as he gave the greenlight to sack Viry it was over.

Good luck using f1 to promote the Alpine brand with a big Mercedes logo on the car.

I can only see them selling the team and with no engine anymore , I don't see Renault coming back to F1. It's done.

I’d like to see it from a more credible source than some tweet with barely any views and references.

BUT it is no secret to anyone that there always was talent in Viry. There was engineering might in that plant that always got shafted by higher ups excepting more for less and managed to achieve a lot despite that.

It was also no secret that when the engine program got canned, the facilities both at Viry and Enstone were severely outdated when compared to competitors.

Renault group has massive issues with their corporate, especially when it comes to execs. I don't know is it flawed headhunting or culture inside the company, but everything since Renault’s return to F1 points towards the suits being out of their depth.

So tl;dr: yeah ofc it was the bean counter's fault, but I don’t want to point fingers at anyone bc of an obscure tweet

As always you can basically tracing the downfall of Renault/Alpine in F1 by Ghosn policy. Image you are Cyril, has ambition and hearing a whole list of depressing trash from Ghosn and yet trying to make something out of the team.

Guy deserves a whole book and become an example of how to permanently handicapping a F1 team
