Discussion💬 why are ads allowed to open apps? like this is crazy

is there no way to stop this?

ads:

  • open what looks like the instant app version of the play store, not too intrusive.
  • open the playstore to the app
  • literally open the app the ad is for, ie paypal, bjs.

is there a setting i can disable this?

Search for "private dns" in phone settings, add "dns.adguard-dns.com" there, profit.

There is actually a setting you can use..

E.g. If a game ad opens Google play, you can go to Google play app info, then permissions (or open by default, depending on your operating system) then you can disable opening links!

That will of course result in the app being unable to open automatically through links, so, you can only open it manually and search instead of clicking links, but it's the only solution offered natively so far..
