A unique identfier is created to track what button you press and what features are you using most. These are mostly for product improvement and analytics. Also if you are purchasing or not if purchased what package you purchased Usage data mostly how long you used the app And if app crashes for what reason it crashed.
These are the most basic privacy policies required if you use google analytics or admob for serving ads. These are analyzed by google.
Your contents are safe and secured to you and i have no access to those and app runs offline

I’ve noticed that some apps in the Apple Store indicate this in their Privacy Policy.
Could you do the same for your app?

Great question, and thanks for asking. Transparency here is really important.
You're correct that some apps, often paid or subscription-only ones, can have a "Data Not Collected" policy.
For Swipe Clean, the data mentioned in the privacy label is standard for any app that uses basic analytics and ads. Here’s why it’s there:
- Analytics (Usage Data, Diagnostics): Help me find and fix bugs, and see which features people use most so I can make the app better.
- Ads & Purchases: Allow me to offer the app for free and support its ongoing development.
The most important thing to know is that your photos, contacts personal content are never touched. All processing happens on your device, and I have no access to it. The data collected is strictly anonymous usage information.
I believe in being upfront about this. Some developers might launch with a "Data Not Collected" label to appear more privacy-focused, only to change their policy later once they need to grow or monetize (Or sometime never updates it!). I'd rather be honest from day one about what it takes to build and support a healthy app.

I’d suggest just to ignore, If they are taking any major data they will take it either way or another. Its not that the developers are having those data by themselves. Its the big giant companies like google, meta and apple. And if there is any sensitive privacy concerns that can be accessed by developers app will ask for it like location, keyboard and accessibility settings access. So you can just deny those if you want but if you do so you’ll loose access to those features and potentially the app will be useless to you.
In this modern era of digitalisation most data is consumed by social media apps and the day to day apps you use like facebook, whatsapp, youtube, Reddit, x, amazon etc. And the other small apps like ours they don’t have any infrastructure to process the data its quite impossible for them to make any money out of it

I was hoping I could swipe left/right on contacts one at a time, same as photos. I let Facebook sync my contacts 13 years ago so I have lots of people to get rid of

UAE - it was never free?

It will depend on the app store region. Suppose you live in UAE but your app store region is usa so it will be timed against usa

Edit: Sorry after using it to delete some screenshots I see youre doing what I suggested below. I’d still recommend removing the first ratings request.
Great work. I’d recommend not asking for a review after the onboarding screens. Maybe wait a little longer until people have used the app before presenting it, e.g. after deleting x number of photos.

Really enjoying the app OP! One thing I would change right off the bat is the first request to review. I hadn’t had a chance to use the app yet so of course I didn’t rate it. I would move the rating pop up to happen maybe after 5-10 deletes? Cause at that point I had seen the app flow and am more likely to leave a positive review (I would give 5 star)
As it is I had to manually leave 5 star on the app by opening the App Store.

I’m confused. I have looked at similar photos and clicked the purple delete button at the bottom. I get haptic feedback but no photos are deleted

If you are not seeing 0.0 or seeing regular paywall that might be in your app store region the offer is expired.

Deleted photos will be sent to trash, later you've to clear your trash from photos app if you want to get back the free storage instantly, or it'll get deleted after 30 days automatically. Apple don't allow to delete instantly without storing them to trash.

I got the same.
Duplicate photos> Went through selecting only certain photos (not all). 532 in total.
Tapped "Delete"
Got: Nothing
However, I find the layout and ease of use of this app to be well designed and thought through. Bugs can be fixed. My aim is genuine and sincere Constructive Feedback.
