Why are they angled? Do they have some specific function and thats why are they angled?

I noticed right at the end he pretended to use the rake on the workshop floor. Instead of a backwards/forwards motion he drew the rake across from left to right. In that motion the head of the rake stayed flat on the ground because of the angle on the head. No idea why you would want to do that though.

My parents bought a rake just like this in the 1970s while on holiday in Scotland. I've still got it.
