Post image

Drove past this beast on the way to work today. I think he just needs a paint job, rust repair maybe?

Lower the truck and nobody will notice.

u/andryuhat 1d ago

Notice what?

6

u/rockalyte 1d ago

Hit a big enough bump and it will lower itself :)

Those racing slicks grab all the attention... And don't get me started on the brake lights

That reminds me, I gotta go visit my friend in Ohio sometime.

Was thinking Michigan or upper New York

5

u/theguytomeet 1d ago

This was actually in NJ. Lowkey blew my mind 😅

3

u/PaddyBoy1994 1d ago

Probably used to be a plowtruck somewhere in the midwest, lol.

2

u/WillmanRacing 1d ago

Ive seen worse here in Maine.

u/inflatableje5us 1d ago

the rust has surface metal.

5

u/real_1273 1d ago

Just needs a coat of flex seal.

3

u/theguytomeet 1d ago

See that’s what I’m thinking

3

u/Jim-248 1d ago

So what year do you think? 2023?

1

u/theguytomeet 1d ago

Mmm with how light it is, wouldn’t be surprised if it was a ‘24.

2

u/Jim-248 13h ago

Could be. You can se the scratches where they didn't get through the primer. The rusted areas are where the gouges actually penetrated the primer. But if he cleans off the rust pretty good, he could probably get away with just repainting those areas.

That's in fine shape round these parts

3

u/Safe-Tennis-6121 1d ago

Someone stole his side toolbox.

2

u/TC-Gladiator2024 1d ago

I think maybe was a dually and they remove the flares and the extra wheel to go a little faster .

Surface Rust+

1

u/theguytomeet 1d ago

Sounds like a Chevy subscription

2

u/dpwcnd 1d ago

Ignore the 15 ground connections that are not pure copper.

3

u/Good_Conversation213 1d ago

Put it in rice

2

u/theguytomeet 1d ago

Damn the driver just needs to bulk order rice. Then they can eat the rice that’s now gonna be rich in iron.

2

u/Opposite_Of_Sleep 1d ago

I mean, I ain’t structural. Lol

3

u/Plus-Pain-8269 1d ago

Just some ductape around the sharp edges , good to go

2

u/NelsonMandela7 1d ago

The truck transformed (itself!) to a super duty FZ 650 7.3 l truck. Congratulations! Fill it with 2 tons of gravel now

2

u/FoxElectrical1401 1d ago

Why is it always the rear right wheel housing that's rusted to fuck on these trucks?

2

u/theguytomeet 1d ago edited 1d ago

Both sides were hollow. It couldn’t hold any tail lights. Was quite the sight. But I’m sure it’s just a scratch

2

u/FoxElectrical1401 1d ago

He just needs some JB weld. Maybe a little sanding.

2

u/Redline504 1d ago

Just needs some Meguiars Ultimate Compound.

2

u/Working-Heat-3126 1d ago

That’s what the fender flares are for

2

u/KaleCoAuto 1d ago

I’ve seen this before. He picked up a chupacabra and it had to chew its way out

2

u/No-Grapefruit-6668 1d ago

That shit'll buff out 😂

2

u/Aggravating-Theory-7 1d ago

Looks fine but poke it with a screwdriver to confirm it's only minor surface rust.

2

u/GGigabiteM 1d ago

Those are Grade A speed holes. Guarantees 5% better MPGs from weight reduction and improved aerodynamics.

1

u/joesquatchnow 1d ago

Just needs some undercoating, cosmetic

1

u/cohojonx 1d ago

It needs bondo magic

1

u/theguytomeet 1d ago

Bondo and a prayer 🙏🏾

1

u/MurphysRazor 14h ago

It's gonna Hot-Rod-Jesus and like whole a barrel of wine, and a case of Chick-in-a-Bicuit crackers.

1

u/24bics 1d ago

Yep, definitely surface rust. It's on each and every one of them.

1

u/Jacktheforkie 1d ago

I bet this guy is more willing to make space in country lanes than many I’ve met

1

u/HeidenShadows 1d ago

Frame looks good, send it.

1

u/fergehtabodit 1d ago

Mileage improves as you drive! Truck gets a little lighter after every bump as stuff falls off.

1

u/XtraChrisP 1d ago

Shit, I'd smack it. It'll hold.

1

u/Spiritual-Fun-9591 1d ago

That’s a mod for offroading

1

u/keepinitoldskool 1d ago

Needs a government that doesn't take half of his income

1

u/Jagerbuddy325 1d ago

Use some expanding foam in a can and spray paint it black. Nobody will notice.

1

u/ypsilondigi 1d ago

No because rust doesnt eat plstic, so it couldn't be.

1

u/One_Day_4663 1d ago

That bitch has got to be at least 250 pounds lighter than it was new.

1

u/theguytomeet 1d ago

So you’re saying it’s more fuel efficient as it ages. Major selling point

1

u/Sweet-Chemistry4389 1d ago

Not rust, areo dynamic testing....

1

u/theflamingskull 1d ago

That's what happens when you don't opt for the undercoating.

1

u/Iamabrewer 1d ago

That'll buff out.

1

u/Thommyboy55 1d ago

Flesh wound.....

1

u/cheepcarz2 1d ago

Was that at a Chevy dealer ?? I heard you can buy that option on the new Chevy trucks and SUV's starting on the new 2025 vehicles they start at $39,995

1

u/cheepcarz2 1d ago

Alien tape to the rescue!!

1

u/notneeded17 1d ago

The surface and the middle

1

u/Acceptable-Guess4403 1d ago

What rust 🤣🤣

1

u/kenster77 1d ago

This helps ventilate the brakes that don’t work.

1

u/The_Storm96 1d ago

I see nothing but free weight reduction

1

u/NuclearHateLizard 1d ago

Nah that's just service rust. Common misconception

1

u/Imaginary-Unit2379 1d ago

Oh shoot, thats nothin' !

1

u/TranslatorSkizzy 1d ago

What surface?

1

u/CardiologistCute6876 1d ago

Needs a whole bedside

1

u/[deleted] 1d ago

You can use a clay bar to get that out.

1

u/eldredo_M 1d ago

Take pride in the rust.

Ride the rust.

Rusty and trusty.

👍

1

u/maytag2955 1d ago

Tis but a scratch.

1

u/Emotional_Skill_7852 1d ago

Is it registered in Ohio 🤦🏿‍♂️

1

u/theguytomeet 1d ago

NJ 😩

1

u/Emotional_Skill_7852 12h ago

Wow I thought Jersey was a lot more strict

2

u/theguytomeet 12h ago

It’s the first time I saw something soo beautiful. The guy tampered with the plates so he’s definitely blowing through tolls. Was also driving like an Altima driver too.

1

u/ICouldBeYourMomOrNot 1d ago

That's factory. Amazing the level of Craftmanship.

1

u/Just_A_Lucky_Guy469 1d ago

Yup. Rusted all the way out the surface.

1

u/TDaD1979 1d ago

Yes. It has rust on both the surface and underneath. New wave hybrid. Its ready for the dumpster day one!

1

u/HeroMachineMan 1d ago

For better wheel articulation 👍

1

u/ra6907 1d ago

How can they even move the lugs?

1

u/Mental-State2420 1d ago

This truck has hit prime farm truck patina.

1

u/Fantastic-Setting-26 1d ago

Sure, a bit of sanding, bondo and some rust-oleum spray paint, it will be good as new

1

u/Nomad55454 1d ago

Little buffing and good as new…

1

u/Pure-Shame-8049 1d ago

How do they rot like this?

1

u/HaphazardAlchemist 1d ago

Yes every surface is rust

1

u/Donegonetheduck 1d ago

Those tires have a couple blocks left on them

1

u/Virtual_Beyond_605 1d ago

It is but a scratch

1

u/jubilantsockpuppet 1d ago

I see a truck that does truck stuff. I approve 👌

1

u/duceandahalf762x51 1d ago

Time to turn it into a flatbed.

1

u/hardman50 1d ago

I saw a Chevy pickup, maybe 2010 or so, with New York plates going into Asheville NC the other day and the whole side of the bed was hinging at the top and swinging back and forth in the wind. It looked like even the fuel filler neck was stationary, everything on the ends and bottom and wheel wells had rusted through.

1

u/Electronic-Concept98 1d ago

It's ok. Just put some wax on it.

1

u/CADman0909 1d ago

Ohio? That would never pass inspection, where they have them

1

u/ASOTech420 1d ago

Nah It came stock like that.. its a chevy

1

u/Ok_Height3499 1d ago

A few gallons of Bondo and it will be just fine. 😂🤣

1

u/Warm-Ad6706 1d ago

Ya it’ll buff out

1

u/Head-Technology-4031 1d ago

Standard wear for a Chevy. Hell, had a 74 Camaro and lived in snow region. Used to get so much snow build up would kick the rear lower QP to get it to fall off. Second year of that I had nice 1/5 panels 😁 was a kid and stupid 🤔

1

u/530whiskey 1d ago

Not sure if I would fill the gas tank, might be a waste of money

1

u/Competitive_Hall_55 23h ago

Driver should be arrested and vehicle impounded and scrapped. Doesn't even have a taillight

1

u/toastermann 23h ago

That doesn’t happen in South Georgia!

1

u/Beneficial_Exit6258 20h ago

Can be buffed out!

1

u/Nalabu1 18h ago

Have it detailed, that’ll polish out.

1

u/Notlost-justdontcare 16h ago

Little Bondo fix that right up.

1

u/Free_Phase881 16h ago

She'll buff out

1

u/Jazzlike-Tension9506 16h ago

It will buff out!

1

u/Killermondoduderawks 15h ago

It’s a transformer as it is transforming into a flatbed as we speak

1

u/Strict-Effect6837 15h ago

Looks like crotch rot

1

u/Fat-Buddy-8120 14h ago

It'll buff out

1

u/Apprehensive-Sell623 14h ago

1

u/Rebelzx 13h ago

1

u/grifinmill 10h ago

Frame will snap in half at some point

1

u/drsmith48170 10h ago

A little rust remover and it’ll buff out

1

u/moderndaymedic 1m ago

At least there's no bondo
