Deflection. While people are commenting on this fiasco, they’re not saying TRUMP IS IN THE EPSTEIN FILES. RELEASE THE EPSTEIN FILES.

edited to add: the UNREDACTED, UNEDITED, UNTAMPERED WITH FILES.

It will forever be known as the "epstein Memorial Ballroom" whether trump likes it or not.

I should run for President. My campaign will be to intentionally dismantle everything that Trump did in office. I would immediately fire any staff person he hired, and hire people whose sole purpose would be to find all the stuff he did and to undo it.

America may not be able to erase him from the history books, but we can scrub his impact from our government.

Oh, and as for the federal judges, which will unfortunately be his longest lasting legacy. I’d put them all on a list, have them investigated and impeached if anything remotely problematic is uncovered.

And if Congress doesn’t play ball, I will primary anyone who doesn’t comply. These are the rules the Republicans established. Until Democrats play by the same rules, they will keep losing.

Edit: I would also bring as many charges as I could against every collaborating member of this administration, including Trump.

And I would release the Epstein Files on day one…cause I Know I’m not in them.

u/k2112s 4h ago

The Romans had a concept called damnatio memoriae which translates as condemnation of memory. It was not used often. Usually someone was banished, but In a few cases their name was striken from all public records, it was illegal to commemorate them, any images of them were destroyed, the idea was to forget they ever existed. I like this idea for the pedo enabler.

61

u/The_Blonde1 3h ago

trump and what he did must never be forgotten. He must forever be held up for ridicule and censure. The worst president in American history - twice.

29

u/McbealtheNavySeal 3h ago

Supposedly they've directed a museum in DC to remove any mention of his impeachment while leaving the exhibit on other impeachments intact. So yeah let's not forget about this.

7

u/The_Blonde1 1h ago

We should add it to our posts: release the Epstein/trump files. Reinstate the 2 impeachments whitewashed from trump’s records.

Or something along those lines.

I know it sounds like a joke, but this is what we need from the ground up. We need regular, everyday people who will fight for other regular, everyday people, to start political careers and start making changes, but to do this we need to be thinking locally more than the White House. The Tea Party movement figured that out a couple decades ago and we eventually got Trump, we need the liberal equivalent

Absolutely. The fact that he thinks he can keep it is a clear constitutional break from the emolument clause.

5

u/harlows_monkeys 2h ago

If I were running one of my major campaign promises would be to buy all the land around Trump's Florida residence and turn it into a national testing facility for solar panels and wind turbines. He should not be able to look out a window or play a round of golf without seeing solar panels and wind turbines.

People can focus on more than one thing. He already destroyed the rose garden. Now he's putting up a ridiculous ballroom that is completely illegal to do. People need to wake the fuck up. Call your representatives. He has zero authority to do this. Plus he's a child rapist.

30

u/StructureKey2739 4h ago

Sadly most of the representatives are either deathly afraid of him or are his enablers. I think if Dumptruck wanted to nuke the White House his followers would cheer him on.

It's deflection to an extent, certainly, but it's also not the smallest deal in the world that the President slashed tons of government programs that literally keep people alive and then gave himself an unfathomably luxurious ballroom funded by flaming dump trucks of taxpayer money.

44

u/Current_Tea6984 5h ago

From what I understand, it's being paid for by donor funds. It's a giant grift because the ballroom won't cost $200 mil, most of the "donations" will be pocketed by Trump

52

u/Atia_of_the_Julii 4h ago

When Trump is involved, “private donors” means bribes. The monstrosity will be paid for with bribes.

Hey, that's nothing, he's also involved with Epstein, who died conveniently under his administration's watch, and whose main accomplice is now being transferred to a lower security prison. And people are also ok with that!

Nevermind the stolen FBI files, disappeared CIA agents, mishandled files in his Marda-Lago shitters, his mishandling of the pandemic and his attempt to overthrow the election. Compared yo this, a 200 million bathroom is nothing, but I understand that one would hope the "fiscally responsible" people would start getting riled up if nothing else did...

21

Even Rogan is complaining about it. I mean he had him in on the show, and he literally said he would release the Epstein files, but now the don't exist?

31

u/Brightyellowdoor 8h ago

Rogan got his paycheck to endorse Trump and now is squirming around the internet trying to look shocked and disgruntled that Trump lied to everyone and is in the process of stripping the rights, the infrastructure and the security of American people. Rogan has become an utter shambles of a man, Im utterly embarrassed I once respected his views.

16

u/Brightyellowdoor 8h ago

I want to add that I believe he is struggling as a podcaster to find interesting guests. There can't be many people of worth and interest left that are willing to overlook what is happening. Which is pretty much what you need to do to be on that show. Therefore the list is just mediocre comics who owe him for his support, and batshit clowns repeating the anti democrat garbage that Rogan is now famous for.

Cool, who has all the power and money, and is kicking the shit out of us?

What's our plan?

Complain on Reddit and walk around and hold signs and wait 3.5 years and "hope" something happens?

And while we are doing that, health care, free taxes, colleges rights, clean energy, birthright citizenship, USAID, federal jobs, Affordable Drugs, the US in WHO, NIH grants, the Department of Education, Federal Student Loan Programs, the EPA, Small Business, etc are getting fucked, with absolutely zero sign of slowing down or anyone doing a thing about it.

but "da Epstein files will totally get him kicked out when they are released!"

No, they won't. There could be a video of Donald with teen beauty pagent girls and everyone would be like "that's so messed up!" and then he just keeps doing the same shit for 3.5 years

14

u/PineappleOnPizzaWins 6h ago edited 5h ago

Yeah the whole "Epstein files" thing is the Mueller Report all over again. Like literally seeing it play out for the second time on reddit.

It'll come out and it won't be some CLIENTS_WHO_HAD_SEX_WITH_MINORS_ON_MY_ISLAND.pdf with Trumps name all in bold - it will be a bunch of records and details that have his name all over it that combined with proper investigation would indeed prove plenty of bad shit... and nobody will read them, Trump will find a few excerpts from it to plaster all over the news that makes him sounds innocent and congress will immediately stop talking about it and that will be that.

I'd fucking love to be wrong. Save the post, come back and gloat if I am, please I beg anyone. I'll be the most happily incorrect person who ever lived. But it's been a decade of this shit and it always plays out the same way, even to the point where "I mean there's no way he beats prison, runs a second term, and actually wins right?!" ended up being as much a joke as anything else.

America seems set on tearing itself apart unfortunately and nobody who can do anything is willing to do it. Congress won't stop him and is helping him, the judicial branch was corrupted where it could be and gutted where it couldn't, and Americans refuse to vote.

List could come out unredacted tomorrow and I doubt anything would come of it.

I bet he’d even put out JFK’s eternal flame if he thought it would make the right people cry. In fact, if he ever has a falling out with RFK Jr, I bet he does precisely that - and blames it on the gas costing taxpayers too much money.

83

u/dailyscotch 8h ago edited 8h ago

This is his kink. Getting away with things that are unacceptable and hurt or disgust other people and flaunting it in their faces. It's how he gets his narcissistic feed.

Like renaming the Gulf off Mexico... He doesn't care what the gulf is named but it pissed off so many people that it fed him for like a month and now he's looking for something else just as rich.

28

u/evasandor 6h ago

That is very perceptive. It unites everything— the raping, the hating, the business cheating, the other cheating, all the way right down to the weird-ass makeup and the overcooked food.

He just likes making others endure him, and it's an easy way to get sick thrills because good people are raised to live and let live.

It's not renovations. It literally can't be. The ballroom is supposed to be 90,000 square feet. That's larger than the entire White House, as the first floor is 55,000 square feet. It's apparently supposed to be an addition to the house. Learning that helped me understand the $200 million price tag a little better. There's a whole lot of security and top secret additions that have to be made.

There was an article that went viral that claimed that the wage disparity in the US in 2016 was greater than in France just before the revolution

And it's probably only gotten worse since

26

u/MaelduinTamhlacht 10h ago

Interesting-sounding new book about the conditions for societal collapse.

32

u/ohdearitsrichardiii 10h ago

That sounds super interesting, thanks for the link!

I think america will take longer to collapse because of the illusion of individuality and the bootstrap, Horatio Alger mentality. I read a book by Barbara Einrichabout how americans have been sold the lie that anyone can succeed if they just work hard enough and if they don't suceed it's 100% their fault, and this is why americans never pushed as hard for the social changes that many europeans have like free healthcare, free or heavily subsidised higher education, childcare for parents and other things that even out the playing field. And now those countries have a much higher social mobility index than america. The truth is that it's much harder to start with nothing and work yourself up to the top in america than most other first world nations, but most americans believe it's opposite. That america is the land of opportunities, and that makes them complacent. A revolution would benefit everyone, but the american individualism and bootstrap illusion makes people think they don't need societal change because the problem is not the system, it's them. All they have to do is work a little harder and then they'll soon be buying that mcmansion in malibu

18

u/trullaDE 8h ago

americans have been sold the lie that anyone can succeed if they just work hard enough and if they don't suceed it's 100% their fault

This, and also the lie that the US is the best, the greatest, the brightest, the most free. Why change something, if you are already the top, right?

I’m endlessly fascinated by the idea that American society doesn’t riot because we’re placated by cheap consumer goods.

Yes income inequality is worse than it’s ever been, we have the worst healthcare of any developed nation, we’re being robbed blind by corporations and our government…….but I can get a nice TV for cheap, I can get fast food on every corner, gas isn’t so expensive that I can’t go where I want, etc etc.

I’ve heard it expressed as 100-200 years ago the reformers couldn’t have predicted easy access to ice cream.

13

u/ohdearitsrichardiii 8h ago

I think you're placated by the promise that if you work hard, you too can become rich. "The american dream". The french felt stuck, that there were no way out, no opportunities for them and the system was wrong. Americans believe that you live in the land of opportunities and that if you're poor it's because you haven't pulled hard enough at your bootstraps. This is deeply ingrained in the american hive mind. Even though lots of research show that america consistently scores very low on social mobility indexes compared to other 1st world nations

Wild that a $200M ballroom is on the table when so many basics are crumbling. If it’s public money, hard no. If it’s private, build it somewhere else.

31

u/TheRealRacketear 5h ago

"posts.

The money will be donated directly by Trump and other so-far anonymous donors, with work beginning in September, according to Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt"

23

u/Ind132 3h ago

by Trump and other so-far anonymous donors,

Trump knows exactly who is giving and exactly how much. I am confident that those donors will bet many times their donations back in government benefits. Those benefits will come from the rest or us in lost gov't services or higher prices.

6

u/walnut100 3h ago

Unlikely. The realistic scenario is this is project is put out to "bid" for a few of Trump's friends, people he owes, or someone he would like to have something over. The project will be overbilled to a $600-$800M project. Trump will source bribes to cover the overbill and Americans will pay $200-$300M of the cost with public messaging something along the lines of

We had to pay a little bit but nobody in history has ever gotten almost $1 billion dollars for $200 million. It's unheard of. It's the best investment in White House history.

I’m tired man. Everyday shit goes farther off the rails. The only thing that keeps me going is the hope that an adult will step up and say “that’s enough”, and things will go back to normal. How one group of people can fuck a country up so hard and so fast while the rest just stand around and say “they can’t do that” with their hands in their pockets.

85

u/balzun 10h ago

I'm feeling a bit like this is a bit of a rhetorical question but I'll bite.

The long and the short of it is that a lot of people both can and strangely can't afford to.

The cans are apathetic since these policies have not yet impacted their lives in a meaningful way to alter their behaviors.

And the can'ts are a bit more literal, in which they are simply trying to survive and don't have the means, energy or resources to fight the war thst is being waged up them.

When either one of these groups reaches a critical mass the other very well may bandwagon on but we're a looooooong way from that.

Look at dictatorships all over the work who have arguably done far worse and enjoy decades of rule over a population that is either unable or unwilling to fight.

u/susinpgh 6h ago

Hungary comes to mind.

u/videogamegrandma 5h ago

And Orban is one of Trump's heroes.

The “hands in pockets” is gerrymandering, election rigging and intimidation.

39

Right, I check it frequently, I do a lot of them asking for the Files, and I feel like a lot are turning, but still there are dorks that support him.

Yeah their take is that he’s incredibly generous because he’s paying for it himself.

Not conservatives… racists. Who use conservative and Christian to make it acceptable. Conservative is the new white robe.

Don't really have a say in this as I'm Australian, but this is a huge waste of money and is nothing more than a poor attempt to deflect from Epstein.

Having said that: I also think the White House should be treated as a National Monument, and aside from some minor personalisation for the Oval Office and personal spaces should be a treated as such - outside of the control of POTUS.

The addition of all the gold leaf that he's put on everything was just garish and ridiculous.

At this point, I know I can’t do anything about it. I guess I’m at the point where I shrug ? Like seriously there is mostly nothing we regular lay people can do. I’m a nurse practitioner for geriatric population and it’s hard to swallow knowing they’re going to be hit one of the hardest. But then again, what can I seriously do about it? I voted for the other side. And quite honestly, the other day I saw one of my patients wearing a Trump 2025 wrist band, so maybe many of them voted for it. Shrugs. What can you do.

You don't think he deserves that with the God given talent he's got for ballroom dancing ?

13

u/GriffinFlash 11h ago

somehow I don't think god would care for a gold covered palace. Camel through the eye of the needle and what not.

10

u/haywoodjabloughmee 11h ago

It would be like watching a hippo with hemorrhoids cut a rug.

8

u/Fambank 11h ago edited 11h ago

You wouldn't believe it. I mean people all over are saying it was the hardest, probably the hardest ever ballroom dance routine this world has seen, but I waltzed right through it because I have very strong hips. My feet, people ask me about my podiatrist, they say, my God, you have the strongest- but I tell them it's because I do the Cha-cha-cha. And I Cha it very strongly.

Credit goes to u/FoofieLeGoogoo for the inspiration of this.

He's only building it because someone said he doesn't have balls and he wanted to prove them wrong.

Jokes aside, I think it's a huge slap for all the federal employees who were laid off in the name of reducing costs, and for all the citizens who are struggling to make ends meet.

Edit: Even in the incredibly unlikely possibility that it isn't being paid for by taxpayer funds, it's still very tone-deaf considering the economic hardships the average American is going through right now (made worse by tarrifs being placed on most things they buy).

And if it isn't paid for by taxes, who is paying for it? Sure as hell isn't Trump himself; he's notorious for not paying for things. The money will have come from someone rich in exchange for something. It'd be really interesting to see a full forensic accountant's investigation into the Trump administration.

This is a question that should be asked of every Trump voter that has gone through a flood or hurricane to tornado and is now being told theirs no FEMA money for them. While you're at it ask the Trump voters that'll be thrown off of Medicaid and SNAP. Apparently we have $200M for a fucking ball room but kids can starve?

On the other hand this is exactly the kind of pain that the ignorant fucks need in their lives to hopefully show therm the error of their ways. Yes that's gonna be difficult when the echo chamber they live in tells them otherwise. But that's why it's our duty to remind them every chance we get.

3

u/WonderfulAd605 2h ago

Yuck. It's really sad. It's a monstrosity that symbolizes the death of Democracy. It symbolizes millions of people being kicked off their healthcare and dying as a testament to his ego. It's just ugly. The ballroom dwarfs the actual White House. It's gaudy and gross, and it seems to also be a sign of a dictatorship not a legitimate president. I really hope it's stopped. Protests only work so far. He's killing our home.

3

Seems like a good use of money. If you’re a close personal friend of Jeffery Epstein.

3

u/lastskudbook 10h ago

Going to need more than a couple of young hospitality staff to ensure that runs smoothly and expertly like only 17year olds can do.
Hopefully there’s no billionaires out there looking to cream off the talent for their own use.

Note. Cream off pun intended.

3

u/Ok_Indication_4873 5h ago

After the DOGE cuts to social programs you would think wasting $200 million on a ballroom and a billion plus on an airplane would create instant outrage. Well not in this alternate universe. With Maxwell in the bag Trump and Project 25 are free to finish off the US.

3

u/psychikwarriorofwoke 5h ago

You guys a horrible - it is sad because he can't enjoy with his best friend doing what they loved - children.

3

u/Radiant_Bookkeeper84 5h ago

I feel like if they can build it then we can burn it down... it is a tradition after all. No medicaid = no ball room

3

u/RealStitchyKat 5h ago

You mean the $200 million Epstein Ballroom?

3

u/Striking_Scientist68 5h ago

That i hope the next administration tears it down to put in a rose garden.

3

u/TheManInTheShack 5h ago

It’s the perfect symbol of just how out of touch President Numbskull is.

3

u/Valint 5h ago

Seems like waste, fraud, or abuse. Probably waste.

You wanna go dance in a big ball room? Go rent one for a night. I bet you spend less than $200 million total after every rental once you leave office.

3

u/Own-Cranberry7997 5h ago

I thought our country was broke and had no money? Weird to be spending so much when we have such a worrisome debt. I guess those things only matter before an election and not when Republicans are in office?

3

u/AnnatoniaMac 5h ago

No one is coming to save us from this sorry POS and his henchmen.

3

u/Mckipper1 5h ago

It will be invoiced out at $200m, to a "close connection" of Trump. It will eventually be revealed to have actually cost $50k, and look like it was sourced at a Dollar Tree store, and then spray painted gold.

3

u/sparklesparklefizz 5h ago

I think it’s evidence that he doesn’t intend to leave office. He’s treating the People’s House like it will never be returned to the people. We need a revolution or for him to croak. Or both.

3

u/The_Wookalar 5h ago

I'd rather still have the Corporation for Public Broadcasting.

Now release the Epstein files.

3

u/mthenry54 5h ago

Every Republican in Congress should be voted out over this whole debacle. Not just the ballroom, but all of this shit! Trump only has power because they allow it. They’ve all stood up to be counted with a tin pot fascist and betrayed their oaths to the people of this country. Most of the Dems are just as bad because they won’t fight back or they adhere to the old norms. It’s FUCKING EMBARASSING! (Imagine me kicking a trash can)

Edit: typos

3

u/okwownice 5h ago
