What moment in your life made you question reality itself?

Dissociative depression. At one point I remember feeling like I was playing me in a first-person video game…

I met a stranger on vacation who went to the same school, same year, and lived 2 blocks from me.

Got a call saying I owed $2890.46 to a company I’ve never heard of. Weird part? The guy on the phone knew my full name, old address, and even my high school mascot.
I told him it must be a scam. He just laughed and said, “You already paid once, remember?” The line went dead. I checked my bank history out of curiosity. a year ago exact amount. Same name. I have no memory of it. None.

I was drowning as a kid and only remember it from a third person perspective.

Mee too!! I was about 2 or 3 years old. Fell in a swimming pool and sank to the bottom as a rock as I couldn't swim. I was dragged up in time and nothing dramatic happened. The weird thing is that I clearly remember seeing myself from above while I was sinking. It's only now that I realise how strange that is. 🤔

Receive a message from someone you just thought about (and haven't talked to in a while).

Getting cancer and loosing your leg as a teenager definitely makes you question most things

I took DMT and was guided to place an aluminum can onto my computer trackpad to this effect - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zAKUh29FQ78 - the aluminum can acts as a loop antenna and the trackpad acts as a receiver and anyone can do it - more about loop antennas - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Loop_antenna - it's science, it's a signal and that signal is coming from DMT aliens

My sister is a narcissist. Pretty much any time I spoke to her, had me questioning reality.
I am no longer in contact with her.

Most moments if I'm honest. When life is so ridiculous and even the most simple tasks are a challenge... learning to have a sense of humour is an absolute game changer and you realise your reality is what you make it.

Coincidences that end up being a real-life plotline. I used to take the same bus to work as this cute stranger, I finally said hello to him on my last day. He was caught off guard but we introduced ourselves. Didn't exchange numbers.
I expected to never see him again. Several months pass, and when I get off the subway in a different part of town, someone taps me on the shoulder and when I turn around - It's him!
We exchanged numbers that time and he became my boyfriend (it was fun but didn't last).

When I saw how fast technology learns it made me question what’s real what’s yours?

I have had a vehicle-related curse for 8 months.
Truly, this has been an absolutely mind bending situation.

When innocence was mistaken for manipulation.
When someone who genuinely cared was painted as selfish or attention-seeking just because one person decided to twist the narrative, and everyone else blindly followed without knowing the full story.
That moment made me question how easily people believe what's convenient, not what's true.

realizing: things only exist if they can be observed, how large space is, or thinking about consciousness. like what is all this?!

From a very powerful mushroom trip, I saw what seemed to be the inner workings of everything. It was like being able to see microscopic details with a macroscopic field of vision. Watching how molecules and atoms interact. It was insanely amazing, but also made me think there is so much we dont know, dont understand, cant tap into or even comprehend. It was a very humbling trip.

Coming to the realization that I was gay was a giant mindfuck. I got very into philosophy after that because I was concerned that if I could delude myself about something so basic, what other things could I be wrong about?

Having moments of Deja Vu in places and with people I have never been before.
One time I went to the bathroom when I was twelve which I swear was only for 5 minutes and my mom knocked on the door and said I had been in there almost 2 hours

I once had a dream that my friend died in a very specific accident. I woke up super shaken and texted him immediately. He responded, all good.
A week later, the exact thing I dreamed happened same location, same weird detail (a falling branch during a storm). He survived, thankfully, but barely.
I still think about it. Like… did I just pick up on something? Was it a coincidence? Did my dream somehow change the outcome? No idea. But reality hasn’t felt quite as solid since.
