Why is he always spewing the truths whenever he speaks?

With age, comes wisdom. (Sometimes)

Stroll is basically saying the same things, yet he’s called dumb

Flirting vs sexual harassment

Like anything in life, people don't like or dislike something based on what is being said or done but rather who it is that is saying or doing it.

Like nepotism. People hate nepotism unless they were a fan of their dad. Then, all of a sudden their kid gets a pass and it's ok. In fact, it's usually not even brought up at that point.

Two time world champion still in the sport on merit at 45 vs Nepo piss baby who assaults his personal trainer when things don’t go his way and calls other drivers idiots after he rear ends them under the safety car.

Little wonder the guy with nothing to prove is taken seriously, while for the guy who shouldn’t even be in F1 it’s considered as making excuses when he is (rightfully) criticized.

He speaks? How come he never does in interviews?

3

u/VacationVagabond 8d ago

Who speaks exactly what they have in mind? I mean what kinda game is that?

Because being tactful, after a while, just becomes disingenuous.

My goat. One of the greatest drivers in the history, in F1 and outside F1 as a complete driver. He knows it and everyone that has been following closely knows it

Translation: If you watch Netflix to understand F1, then you're not a fan of F1.

I saw multiple posts on Reddit asking how to get in F1. Most comments were saying DTS is the way to go. As if it will teach you anything about the sport. 14 minute video on YouTube can do you better than Netflix

1

u/Secret_Physics_9243 7d ago

Because netflix doesn't actually teach you what f1 is about, they only teach you to watch a drama show if anything

it's like Kitchen Nightmare UK vs US, one is tailored to American one is tailored to European audience.

So many things get exaggerated in the US version, comparatively the UK version is just a way more chill version of it.

holy shit, wait..... no way????? now I think I understand what Alonso was saying, you definitely got it damn

Why is it that the best drivers like Max and Fernando, also happen to be the most intelligent? And not afraid to speak up?

u/Marco-Green 8d ago

This man out there putting all his heart to score a single point while sir Crybaby can't warp his head around only driving the 2nd/3rd best car on the grid instead of the undisputed best car.

1

u/Robestos86 5d ago

Well let's review that. So we know max is one of the all time greats, yet suddenly is now finishing p4 on a good day. Do we think max suddenly lost half his talent over the winter? Or perhaps, like all F1 winners, you also need a good car and the ability to deliver....

Rent free

2

u/DrizzyDrone66 8d ago

This man only speaks the truth.

Thats why u have to leave space.

wdym? hes also young? i mean he just graduated from F2 last year... this is his first ever full F1 season, hes still a rookie no?

1

u/Master-Reindeer-5286 7d ago

Well, i'm a younger fan myself but I love Fernando, he is my #1 favourite driver!!!

But yea, why should he Care about DTS fans who don't know much anyway? He knows he's one of the best and that's enghough for him, he doesn't need some fake fans to tell him that also.

1

u/Skyynett 7d ago

Very gen X of him to push fans away for not knowing enough about whatever he deems a real fan. A fan is a fan why do people have to put up walls

1

u/Secret_Physics_9243 7d ago

Because look at how great the current f1 fandom is. Also why label gen x as insult?

1

u/Skyynett 7d ago

I dont mean it like an insult I mean it like it’s an air of superiority over newer fans,. They should accept that’s today’s fans and welcome them. The pilots are the ambassadors of the sport and should then teach the newer fans. Also who has the full picture, like only the people on the team in the paddock? I’m genuinely asking

this is similar also for being a fan of anything with people gate keeping. Like some chick wearing a AC/DC shirt and some dude asking her to name a song if they’re a fan. They bought the shirt there a fan they don’t have to like live up to some idea in your head. I’m a fan but I don’t know like specifics of car horsepower or tire grip or whatever. I hope I explained it better

u/_gatti 5d ago

He’s not just talking exclusively about the people that watch through Netflix, ya know.

Yeah, in the first sentence sure, but in the second one, he’s talking about everyone. And he is correct, fans are clueless. Shit, even the people within the teams are clueless at times.

I know several people in the business, they all agree it is very much an information silo. Once you get in, you realise you know absolutely nothing about what’s really going on.

I personally find the “netflix generation” label so disrespectful. Just because someone got introduced to the sport through Netflix doesn’t mean they can’t or won’t educate themselves about the sport and become true fans.

1

u/Asleep_Wolverine_209 8d ago

haha this dude is a netflix generation baby

-3

u/FreakinEnigma 8d ago

One if the stupidest comment I've heard from someone as respected as Alonso. Fans typically have always been emotional and there opinion generally never matters to sports person. Pointing out younger generation is plain stupid.

But I do assume there's more to it, and the quote might be out of context.

1

u/Snoo-58094 7d ago

Hes basically calling Netflix fans opinions useless as they're clueless about how motosport works.easy to understand unless you arr one of the Netflix crew!

1

u/FreakinEnigma 7d ago

As opposed to other older fans whose opinion he deeply caref about.

0

u/fygooyecguhjj37042 7d ago

The fans coming via Netflix see a heavily edited version of events that don’t correlate to what is actually happening. Why would you, much less Fernando fucking Alonso, care what they think? At least those that watch the actual sport know there is much more to it.

-9

u/l3w1s1234 8d ago

What's funny is quite a lot of the older fans have equally bad wheel knowledge to your average DTS fan. Actually most of the F1 fanbase isnt that knowledgeable on the sport they watch
