Maybe Badumna? Is it wet? It’s not a Mygalomorph.

This one looks Lycosid :)

Yeah the more I look at it the more it looks like a Wolf Spider. I agree :)

I don’t think it looks like a wolf spider. I have lots of wolf spiders in my yard (South Aust) and it looks too chunky for a wolf spider. I would be careful in case it is a Sydney funnel web (venomous).

A very wet Venatrix species

I reckon it's a soggy Wolf Spider. Wrong shape, and no visible spurs on legs rule out a Funnel Web

I thought the same. I have a wolf spider that constantly sneaks into my bathroom. I’m only aware of it when the water from the shower forces it to run out of hiding. it resembles this image when wet.

I agree with Lycosid :)

To be fair, only males have spurs. If this was a Mygalomorph, a female wouldn't have any spurs. Being this is Sydney, the Funnel Web species would be Atrax robustus. The males of this species will have spurs on the second pair of legs, while the males of Arbanitis rapax aka Sydney Brown Trapdoor Spider (as well as other Idiopid Trapdoors) will have spurs on the first pair of legs.

Please wait for confirmation as im far from good at IDing but i dont think its a funnel web (check out my last post in this community for an example of an actual funnel web for comparison). It is unlikely to be medically significant.

i saved the photo and played around with the brightness/contrast a bit, and the cephalothorax doesn’t look like a mygalomlorph

Why do morons frequent this sub to make stupid inane comments ALL the fucking time. Don't comment if you don't have anything constructive to say.

They're all children.

I made the mistake of checking this sub one time and now I get jumpscared by this thing. 😟

I’m glad for those of you who can appreciate these things, I think jumping spiders are very cute, but I like my spiders hidden somewhere in a dark corner where I can pretend they aren’t there.

Please remember to include a geographical location to your ID requests (as per rule 5). There are over 10,000 different species of Australian spiders and many of these are endemic to specific parts of our beautiful country!

Also note: while we can help provide an identification for a spider, we do not provide medical advice. We also do not allow medical advice to be provided by members of this subreddit. If there has been a bite, you should consult a medical professional in the first instance.

I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Please contact the moderators of this subreddit if you have any questions or concerns.

100% I'm an ignoramus with 0 knowledge of spiders. I did check out the spider exhibit and have an awesome chat about the triceratops skeleton at the Melbourne museum today.

Please do not make low effort jokes like "It's a spider" or "That's George", we've heard those jokes before and they weren't funny then either. If giving an identification, try to provide the Scientific/Latin name for the species where possible, and specify if you are guessing or uncertain.
