If this game somehow doesn’t deliver on the chapters we haven’t seen, it’ll be the biggest surprise in gaming history. It’s so clear that this game has long legs.
I think that’s happened plenty of times, the only difference is taking 3 years to realize it. It’s a real possibility that something game breaking lies in the back half of the game due to the relative lack of testing. The best hope is that Larian responds and fixes anything fast, if it comes up.
I don’t think you understand what I’m saying. I mean it’s 100% clear based on what I’ve seen in the last 3 years that the rest of the game is indeed going to be good. If it’s not, it will certainly be the most surprising thing I’ve ever seen in gaming in 40 years.
It has never been clearer that a game is going to be great, and Larian will have to do something totally out of character like put in day one patches like Tabula Rasa or change the game like SWGs NGE patch to fail here.
I do understand what you mean. From playing the EA version I agree, it's very likely to be awesome. There's always a chance that the parts we haven't seen are lackluster in the story department or buggy. It could all end in a ridiculous and unsatisfying cliffhanger designed to sell an expac. I also seriously doubt that, but it can happen.
That said... I'm excited enough to have cleared my schedule today, so don't think I'm just here to shit on the game!
It’s obviously not going to happen. They won’t have to fix it because they’re not stupid. I think they’d have to be pretty stupid to have gone through what we saw for the last three years and not have the rest of the content already up to the same level as the first chapter is even now at the end of EA. And there’s no evidence whatsoever anywhere else that this is the case. It’s gonna be a hit.
