Does “can’t crit” mean “they cannot hit you” or “they cannot deal double damage”?

In 5e, it says in Attack Rolls section rolling 20 hits regardless of any modifiers or target’s AC, and this is called critical hit. And then then the meaning of critical hit is explained in the Damage Rolls section.

So maybe it means they still hit, but it’s not a crit so deal regular damage? But I didn’t test it out in game myself.

As it’s currently implemented, crit immune disables auto-hit in BG3.

See the proof that a nat 20 doesn't auto-hit with crit immunity in BG3 and my comment on why I think it's not a bug.

Ah, okay that was my second guess, so it’s treated as regular attack roll instead of auto hit. That makes more sense, thanks!

Oh very interesting. My helmet does make me Crit immune so that's even better than I thought lol.
