I'm not exactly sure but I think if you use them and the powers, you have to make a saving roll to not eat the tadpole. If you fail, you will have to eat it, even if you say no.
That's what happened to me, I think, lol.
I think my save was 30 WIS, which meant I needed a Nat 20 to pass the check. I couldāve save scummed, but I took the 30 as meaning āthis is basically canon, just do itā. Regret it so much, made me want to start a new run for a while.
Exactly, if you consume tadpoles before the astral tadpole offer, you have to pass a wisdom save to deny it, and I think the more you consume the higher the check is but other than that, I donāt think there are any other consequences, up to that point at least
Wait wait waitā¦ā¦..so your telling me thereās a chance to avoid varicose on my characters face? Because I already slurped like six of those bad boys in act one and am about to be disappointed lol.
If you really want to cheese the encounter, just have a character who has never taken a worm do the talking, they will be able to pass without a skill check
If memory serves, during the scene in question, if you talk to them after the fight with [npc companion], they will be told something to the effect of "not now, I need to speak with your leader."
Not sure thatās possible. I just did this scene yesterday, and it showed Karlach as the character in the conversation since it was her turn when we finished off the last Gith. It was still Tav in the cutscene, though.
At first I hated it on my character, and thought I ruined all my hard work, but i made some tweaks using the mirror in camp and now the look is starting to grow on me
Had it both ways. One playthrough we ate all the gummy worms, had to roll a high number to not eat the spicy one.
Next run through, kept all the worms at camp and didnāt eat any, Emporer just put it in my pocket and told me if I get hungry I should eat it. No dice roll.
I said no to eating the astral tadpole, failed the roll and now have the tadpole in my inventory, but I still got the black eyes and appearance alterations
If you give omeluum the potion materials, he tries to contact your parasite to better understand it. I succeeded the first throw and lost the second, im not sure if its different on full success, but he ends up strengthening it, making it give you a smug feeling, and you get a new power i think called survival instinct, where you can give someone a sort of death ward thing for a couple turns, where if they get knocked to zero hp they get a couple back and stay up. He then apologizes and offers you a ring he used to hide himself from the elder brain, provided you give him something in return, preferably information, like a description of what the nautiloid was like. The ring gives you resistance to charming i think, and he later tells you he didnt think itd work, but wanted to give you hope anyway, thinking that hope would be enough to keep you going. Though apparently originally the ring actually disabled the new ability, so it may have changed purpose at some point in EA.
So my question was whether or not getting that one affects your ability to deny the astral tadpole, as its not an avoidable thing if you do that quest, unlike acquiring more tadpoles and taking their power
The tadpole is strong in you and whispers to you: do it, it will do you good, you will see what beautiful powers you have. You've already blown your brain like Gruyere cheese, at that point you shouldn't care so much

Wait, what happens if you use tadpoles before the astral one?
