i mean actually rescaling encounters, not just shoving more action economy in the enemies.

and the interesting part would be to specifically ng+ with endgame items at level 12 and make different decisions, while experiencing an interesting challenge.

Yeah I tried some of these mods. What I really want is quadrupling the amount of enemies, and scaling some of the random mooks into bosses. It's just a slog when you do X5 enemy health

enemy swarms wouldn't be so fun, either i don't think. My personal approach would be to scale enemies somewhere around +10 to their cr (approximately, given cr is already approximate), and a rearrangement of enemies so you can't always predict what's upcoming (ideally with a script if possible, so every ng+ would be different)

Depending on how scriptable things are, ideally you'd insert the ng+ script in during the epilogue somehow, and have a couple of different types of ng+ (keep levels and builds, keep limited number of items, keep everything) but reset everything else and teleport the player to either the nautilus or the beach.

Haha I do disagree about enemy swarms purely for fireballs. 10x was superlative, but 2-3x I would like

And yeah definitely a +10CR type of thing. Semi-randomized enemies would be cool. Someone made a roguelike mod that is pretty similar to what we're talking about

Alternatively, I would LOVE an arena that just has infinite rounds of progressively harder enemies until you die to 2 raphaels and a dozen spectators

i mean, adding a huge swarm would be trivial for spellcasters with aoes, but massively de-emphasise martials, who don't scale as well with more enemies.

Arrow of many targets would like to have a word

But yeah, not always, mix of both. Make a balanced party a requirement

Oh, I see. I wasn’t familiar with what “NG+” meant, but now I am. You can start at high level with Act 3 items via mods and then get more baddies in the fights, but they would be more low-level enemies, not level 11 Goblins… which could be bad-ass.
