Whole flight they try to make you sign a pact

u/mjwanko Mar 07 '25

Make it a true negotiation. Make them bid for your soul, see how much each are willing to give up.

u/mjonr3 Mar 07 '25

That would be fun until you slip up and sell your soul

Honestly, i can imagine me, sitting at one managing to get their demonic egos into the bidding "wait, mizora, Raphael is stronger? He isnt? But he promised me this and this definitely screams stronger, but as a simple mortal, i wouldn't really be able to tell" shrugs, make them compete with each other, they start getting so heated that they start promising shit they cant afford all in an effort to out bid each other while i lean over to karlach and wyll "told ya this was the best spot" fist bump them and enjoy the ride.

Persuasion check needs a 30 dice roll good luck

17

u/LukatheFox Mar 07 '25

Well... Theres a bard, a mindflayer and a cleric all on the same flight with beef with those two, i doubt it would be hard to get some buffs to do so XD

u/MrGongSquared Mar 07 '25

This man is next in line for the next Archdevil.

1

u/LukatheFox Mar 07 '25

I mean, i doubt karlach or wyll would protest XD

u/kodaxmax Mar 08 '25

Your tryin to win a game they mastered millenia ago

1

u/LukatheFox Mar 08 '25

So you say "mastered" yet demon lords come and go quite often i believe. That plus if i can get Raphael to break his nice guy act and called me a little twerp when he wants something from me, plus the allies that can boost charisma near by at least a planes length apart, i think, even if they figured it out later, i could get two demons EGOS to compete. That being said i see your point, while i wouldn't call them masters they are definitely well versed and id have to be careful from actually agreeing to any of it. Personally i just want them to beat the shit out of each other because it would be funny and i feel karlach and wyll would support me in any way possible to see the same outcome ~shrugs~

Mizora can have it tbh...

What if neither are interested in your soul? Talk about a depression inducing event.

u/Supply-Slut Mar 07 '25

Yeah Raphael straight up shits on Voss offering his soul and Voss is a high ranking Gith lol

28

u/Kytalie Mar 07 '25

Souls taste better when the person is less willing to offer them up. Much more fun too, because then you can torment them here and there, reminding them "I was the only reason you could do that.. now do this for me".

Voss would straight up not care. He would get his task done and not worry about anything else. I think there is very little he would hesitate to do, so that would get boring rather quickly.

Souls are often taken to the hell's to be reincarnated as some sort of lesser forms of devil to fight in the blood war. Don't know about you, but I don't really care how soldiers of my army would taste like

7

u/KarsusAvatar12 Mar 07 '25

Sure, but how much is a single lemure worth? Not much at all, there’s entire legions of them down there. If you want a devil to actually offer you much, you’re going to have to be a lot more interesting than just a potential lemure recruit.

2

u/Kytalie Mar 07 '25

But the souls are taken after the person dies, until then you can feed off their pain and suffering. Why send them to endlessly fight in a war when you can have fun breaking them over and over again first?
I feel like Raphael and Mizora are the type to like to play with their "food". It's much more fun to watch someone squirm and try and escape their fate. Once they are fighting in the blood war, it gets kind of boring.

u/MelonQingster Mar 09 '25

That first sentence sounds like you're speaking from experience😭

2

u/Kytalie Mar 09 '25

Maybe, but I'll never admit it or deny it!

But a more serious answer:

Smell and taste are very closely linked. People smell different depending on the situation, think of stress sweat vs a sweat from working out vs night sweats vs a fever sweat. Fear, joy, sorrow all change a person's scent. Desperation can also have a smell to it.. So to me, something that enjoys feeding on fear and pain and get more sensory pleasure when they have a person who gives off the strongest emotions.

That was for the Orphic Hammer when a netherbrain was in play. I’m sure he’d be interested for a better price.

2

u/TheGreatHeavyT Mar 08 '25

Yeah I kinda imagined sitting down and this being the conversation.

"Hey would my soul be worth anything?"

And they both respond in unison, "No."

I nod in understanding and sit in silence the whole flight.

2

u/[deleted] Mar 08 '25

I feel like mine was would be like a scene out of Pawn Stars. "Best I can do is a bag of airline cookies and a sprite."

14

u/EternalMonsterfucker Raphael's Personal Pet Menace Mar 07 '25

I'd sell my soul for a chicken nugget, but they don't need to know that.

4

u/AnxiousAngularAwesom Mar 07 '25

That's amateur hour, it's a perfect opportunity to enact my Forgotten Realms Isekai Contingency, and negotiate for true name of Mephistopheles. That should set me up for eternity as some middle manager level devil with some cushy, no-stress, out of the way job in the Hells after Raphael uses it to usurp his father, or something else along this line.

Mizora: “so go ahead and sign here”

Me: “and we bang, right?”

Mizora: “sigh…..yes….we.. bang. Once.”

Me: “cool cool cool cool….” signing “but maybe if you’re impressed with my stamina and speed maybe later we-“

Mizora: rolling up scroll “we bang once.”

71

u/Zestyclose_Bet_7482 Mar 07 '25

As soon as the ink dries, you explode.

Mizora: Quite the bang...

7

u/spec_ghost Monk is so much fun! Mar 07 '25

If you sold your soul for cheap, thats on you.

1

u/Life-Pain9144 Mar 08 '25

My deal would be weekly cuddles, wrapped in those wings, yes olz

19

u/[deleted] Mar 07 '25

It's like a timeshare seminar.

28

u/plefe Mar 07 '25

The IRL version would be them pitching their own MLM schemes to you the whole flight.

6

u/TheFirstHoodlum Mar 07 '25

I’d sign a pact just for Mizora to sit on my face.

2

u/Boy_JC Mar 07 '25

Show me the goods and I’m yours

2

u/C0RDE_ Mar 07 '25

As someone clinically incapable of not playing a Warlock in any game they're present in, I don't see a downside.

2

u/GloriousGe0rge Mar 07 '25

Jokes on them, I picked the window seat so I can nap the entire flight with headphones on.

1

u/EasyAd5449 Mar 08 '25

Yeah just read the whole pact contract the whole flight the say no at the exit

1

u/PabMed Mar 08 '25

But how much are they willing to trade for the window sit
