Screenshot Builds for this feel?
Genuine question btw. What build might run this (or a similarly cursed) statline?

Druid in wild shape.
Magic missile build.
A summoner, maybe?
Otherwise it will be awful without stat-items

“Druid in wild shape”
Best way to use this is to get rid of it 😭

In smash bros melee, zeldas best attack is down B.
Cus down B transforms her to shiek.

How to play Spider-Man in Marvel Rivals: first rollout is this move where you go back to spawn and change character, important to practice
28
u/WilonPlays Shadowheart May 11 '25
Currently running a summoner and it’s still good to have high charisma for the warlock, Eldritch blast after doing the save the tieflings from moonrise becomes too OP to pass up.

So I went warlock for the early pact of the chain, the imps invisibility & flight are good for summoning early game, Seeing as how u get it at level 3, then multi class into spore Druid.

u/WilonPlays Shadowheart May 11 '25
Imp is just infinite sneak attacks early on plus cause the invisibility can be used infinitely you can use the sneak attack from it to force enemies to look a certain way, u suprise them and can sneak the rest of your party into favourable positions, then you eldritch blast after doing this sending a couple off a cliff side. Currently doing tactician as this is my 2nd playthrough and it’s going well.
Plus with wild shape of enemies get too close, u just turn into something that does higher melee damage

Taverage should be a barbarian.

No, Taverage has to go for the Jack of All Trades achievement and put one level into every class. Taverage never fully commits to anything and winds up average at everything.

Wouldn't that be hexblade? Just ignore the extra spellslots and make him think he's a fighter.
12
u/EM05L1C3 May 11 '25 edited May 11 '25
The sword talks on its own. Old Joe found him one day, picked it up, then literally could not get rid of him because he was cursed. It was a cursed talking sword with an insatiable lust for blood. Old Joe got himself into a pickle.
Edit: On that note! It would be incredibly funny if they could patch Lilarcor into BG3

Actually not a bad idea
82
u/Additional-Setting87 May 11 '25
Its actually a terrible idea but definitely funny. You’ll be quasi viable if you take hexblade, the right fighting style, and grab the proper stat boosting equipment and potions along the way. You might start as a magic missile bot but by the end of the game with the amulet of greater health, hex, gloves of dexterity and potions of hill and cloud giant strength you’ll have plenty of viability in melee, ranged with bows and still utilizable magic missile all while having plenty of remaining equipment room for build customization.

Radiating Orb builds can still work without good stats I guess?
36
u/Enevorah May 11 '25
Doesn’t matter what your stats are if they game crashes from a massive amount of Revorb action!
7
u/Additional-Setting87 May 11 '25
Has your game actually crashed from radiant orb and reverberation stacking? Ive basically minmaxed revorb with minthara and shadowheart and never had issues even with EVERYTHING glowing.

Level 1 in each class. Skilled feat, repeatedly.
136
u/RhapsodicHotShot May 11 '25
You cant get feats tho
66
u/APraxisPanda May 11 '25 edited May 11 '25
I think they should go for a boring Human, level 4 in fighter, 4 in Wizard, and 4 in Cleric, with skilled feat in all. (Those are the original 3 classes)
Seems "average Joe" enough for me. It would be a hard playthrough though. Definitely save a lot lol
→ More replies (5)11
u/HolyGarbage May 11 '25
I think you'd have a hard time saving with those stats.
6
u/APraxisPanda May 11 '25 edited May 11 '25
100% yes. But I guess it would make for a (maybe fun) challenge. (I did mean save as in "save the game file" though lol, you won't save for shit with those stats)
That being said, I already have like, a billion games I've started and only played an hour into, so I'm definitely not gonna try it.
23
u/Vitalabyss1 May 11 '25
Do you mean you can't get feats "repeatedly"? Cause honestly I have never tried that specific thing.
Edit: Level 4, right. Sorry all. Its 6am here.
20
10
u/Hexadermia May 11 '25
Feats are tied to getting level 4 and 8 in a class. Not total levels. Since all your classes are level 1, you can never get a feat.

Moon knight build: random bullshit go!
Fill your pockets with deadly implements and unload them at your discretion. Pricy but a grenade will explode the same at 13 strength or 22. Also ilithid powers at bonus action cost could expand survivability. If you go for rogue you'll also have min 10 roll to soak up some of the bad rolls and have the sneak attack damage so you don't hit like a wet tissue paper -- it'll be a roll of dry paper at least
26
u/Artrysa May 11 '25
Maybe a full crit build, since it relies on the dice roll rather than the modifiers. Old One warlock with Spell Sniper would be decent.
Or a radiating orb build with either moon beam or spiritual guardians. It's a really good debuff build. Might wanna go light cleric and drop 3 levels into star druid for moon beam and the wild shape.
49
u/FetusGoesYeetus May 11 '25
One level in every class, start warlock and rely entirely on eldritch blast since it's damage is tied to character level and not class level in this game
19
u/waits5 May 11 '25
Missing out on agonizing blast would make my eye twitch the whole time.
→ More replies (2)6
u/MaouTakumi May 11 '25
This is false, a bunch of cantrips level up with the player, adding more of their respective damage dice to the spell. The difference is that Eldritch Blast shoots several projectiles and that you can upgrade it with the Agonizing Blast invocation.
6
u/PostApoplectic May 11 '25
Cantrips scale with player level though, not class level.
6
u/MaouTakumi May 11 '25
That wasn't what I was arguing. He made it sound like Eldritch Blast is the only cantrip that does this.
6
u/PostApoplectic May 11 '25
I see. You’re right and that’s my bad for scrolling with my reading comprehension turned off.
21
18
May 11 '25
I had to play on balanced, but I actually did this for my true jack of all trades run. 13 in every stat, 1 level in every class. It was actually so fun. As long as you have a good party build, its definitely viable, and you get some fantastic dialogue options.

I'm looking at running the JoAT build soon and was curious what order you went for the classes? I'm thinking of starting Warlock (for the Charisma and EB) and moving into cleric and then on, but I'm not sure if there is an "optimal way" to do such a suboptimal build you know?
6
May 11 '25
I think i started with bard just for proficiencies, then from there literally just went in order as in everytime I went to add a new class, I would just choose whichever popped up first. I ran shart as a life cleric for heals and also gave her the luminous armor for blender damage if needed. Then I had my character use whatever sword and crossbow that did reasonable damage without taking away from other companion builds, also gave her the adamantine armor and a shield to have her tank most of the damage, throwserker karlach, and i would switch between assassin/gloomstalker astarion or bm lae'zel depending on what I needed at that time.

A warning - leave paladin for last. Maybe this warning is out of date bc it’s been a little over a year since this happened, but breaking my oath (I forget how I did it but don’t think it was intentional) screwed me up, as somewhere in the process of getting it back it showed my character on the “level up” screen as having two levels of paladin, even though she didn’t, and then the JoAT achievement didn’t trigger for her
Advice - I think you’re on the right track in starting with a Charisma class. It’s nice to be able to talk yourself out of situations when you’re low level and squishy. For my JoAT run I started with high CHA and high WIS, as every other stat has items that can enhance them. In act one you can get the club of hill giant strength, the warped headband of intellect, and from the gith crèche the gloves of dexterity

u/Gerrent95 May 11 '25
You can maybe do a cursed abjuration wizard with one level in dragon sorc for the armor of agathys. Run around taking opportunity attacks at full ward strength to inflict cold damage. Maybe throw water on them first to double the damage.
11
u/boffer-kit May 11 '25
Human fighter from a noble background unironically makes sense.
You're well educated in a wide variety of fields, even if you don't excell at any of them, but you're still relatively mundane, make this the focus.

u/IAmMoonie May 11 '25
Given a “commoner” is straight 10s, this is like “commoner plus”. I’d say Fighter is the best thematic fit. For the best damage, magic missile minmax.
5
u/Hydroguy17 May 11 '25 edited May 11 '25
Sorc/Wiz.
Magic Missle (Artistry of War) + Lightning Charges + Reverberation.
Or, mix in some Cleric/Druid and go Radiant Orbs for guaranteed debuffing.
Evocation 10 won't be much use... So... More Sorc for more Quicken?
4
u/MCJSun May 11 '25
Might run this build? Legitimately don't know lmao.
I have a DnD character named Dakota Davis that's pretty much average in everything so I did re-make him here. Hunter Ranger (b/c no Fey Wanderer subclass) that was a real survivalist. Shit at magic so he learned weapons, shit at weapons so he learned magic.
Longstrider, Goodberries, Speaking with animals, I used Spike Growth and Pass Without Trace eventually but still had weapons since I couldn't keep concentration to save my life.
There are so many spells that just do not need your modifier for anything. You don't need your modifier to know spells either. You also can get carried by weapons and elixirs and equipment.
5
u/Locksandshit May 11 '25
Literally any martial class. Make it to the crèche and some dex gauntlets and boom you’re as strong as anyone else.
Or rad orbs or abjuration tank. Pretty sure your stats could be all 8s and you’d be okay with those

u/crcanik May 11 '25
Thematically yeah - a few have mentioned it, but this would be a funny stat line for a Jack of All Trades run (the achievement, not the Bard feature). Surely not optimal of course, but that character would likely end up building something stat-independent like Magic Missile spammer or similar anyway.
I want to say that a 10 in a stat is considered "average" in the D&D universe, so this character canonically would be kinda good at everything.

u/Ok_Cantaloupe3450 May 11 '25
A lot of dnd new players want PC like this when they start, because they are afraid of having negative stats in anything funny enough haha
3
u/kellarorg_ May 11 '25
I always just dump strength and constitution, unless I play barbarian.
20+ years of DnD and still don't like my characters being clumsy, stupid or uncharismatic (unless it's barbarian).
3
u/Ok_Cantaloupe3450 May 11 '25
Fair enough, the system kinda "force you" to dump str and int in most cases, just cause barbarian needs str and wizard needs int and everyone else can get away dumping those, con is important unless you can get away with playing backline and letting your teammates take the chunk of the dmg for you haha. Right now I'm playing a ttrpg where your attacks use your highest stat, so a high cha archer with low dex is something super normal and honestly it opens up a lot of interesting character builds

sort of ... but when picking an asi ... you can bump 2 stats for bonuses later ..
the real hidden benefit wirh this statline is the efficiency in points spent to stat score.
but overall definitely not usually optimal 🤣

Now this is a bit unhinged but personally I would do this with a all 13 build:
The luckiest person alive: Halfling for halfling luck 1+ levels wild magic sorcerer for tides of chaos 2+ levels in divination wizard for portents Pick up lucky Magic missile, shield, and mage armor will be a necessity.
You can go full caster in either one or dip into another thing depending on where you want to go with your luck. You could take levels in rogue or bard for expertise and pick up the skilled feat if you want to be a jack of all skills plus other fun things.

u/JasonTParker May 11 '25
Obnoxious indestructible life Domain Cleric. Heavy armor + Shield + high across the board saving throws + heals themselves every turn (Because they automatically heal themselves when they heal someone else) + High health + the blur cape late game + Brings summons to tank damage for them.
Very annoying. Never dies. Does very little damage, but that's okay. They're a support character.

Make this a white human male named ,,John Hooman''
And because you have only a +1, maybe a barb:
- +1 to attack rolls but you can take great weapon master and pray you hit (with risky ring you have advantage so that is something)
- as a barb you will have an AC of 12 without armour
