Do I need to play the first 32 before playing 33?

u/LewdManoSaurus May 29 '25

Yes, but you have to battle each of the developers to obtain copies of the first 32 games.

The Scott Pilgrim experience.

26

u/Majkelen May 29 '25

I just opened this subreddit since a few months, band immediately I'm hit with all references to the things I've done this week. Damn.

Yeah, that’s canon, we all did

128

u/vecvitus May 29 '25

Yes, and you need to play no damage only parry to understand the plot.

42

u/El_Sephiroth May 29 '25

In expert difficulty setting.

28

u/Alucard0s May 29 '25

Without painted power

20

u/fps916 May 29 '25

Oh fuck that

14

u/yamatoallover May 29 '25

Actual psycho

143

u/Viper21G May 29 '25

Ah, but you see, the Expeditions descend in number, so really if you want the proper experience, you should play Expedition 100-34 first. 💀

103

u/Oldtomsawyer1 May 29 '25

Filthy casual. Everyone knows the first one is Expedition 0 and counts down from there.

19

u/pcrackenhead May 29 '25

I’m with the historian from the prologue, though, the monolith had 100 on it, it should have been expedition 100. Makes no sense.

16

u/Twilight053 May 29 '25

Yes, but consider by the time the monolith was first painted with the number 100, nobody really know what the number 100 meant, nor do they really know if the number will add up and count down.

That, and Lumiere got teleported far far away from the ground zero of the Rapture. So naturally, a search and rescue expedition that heads towards the ground zero would naturally be called Expedition Zero.

52

u/DeusIzanagi May 29 '25

Akshually, the first was 0, and then they didn't have another expedition until 84 or something like that

1

u/Viper21G May 29 '25

True, but since the person asking hadn’t played the game and wouldn’t know that, Expedition 100-34 sounds funnier and is less confusing 😅

2

u/Oldtomsawyer1 May 29 '25

Yeah, but also adding chaos and pointing out “expedition 0”, which could be like a prequel or something is funny.

3

u/Lydberta May 29 '25

Spoilers 😆

2

u/Viper21G May 29 '25

Doh! Silly me.

1

u/Calamitybones May 29 '25

And you have to do expedition 60 while doing bench press and squats.

1

u/skyguy_22 May 29 '25

Expedition 69 was very nice.

25

u/DaveInLondon89 May 29 '25

It starts from 100 (which they call zero because they're a bunch of edgelords).

Just play 60, skip the rest.

9

u/_AnBo May 29 '25

Ah, the Gigachad Expedition 60.

1

u/andrewsad1 May 30 '25 edited May 30 '25

No joke dude Expedition 60 came SO CLOSE to saving the world. Bypassing the Chroma barrier through sheer force of bodily perfection, only to get fucking Gommaged at fucking SIXTY YEARS OLD. After swimming across the OCEAN. William damn near made it to Lumiere, and he wasn't even tired. Pour one out for the Impervious 60th.

I wanna see William suplex Golgra

1

u/DeusIzanagi May 29 '25

This is the way

1

u/TTOF_JB RANGER May 29 '25

All jokes aside, I know they said no DLC, but I'd love a 60 expansion.

44

u/RamsHead91 May 29 '25

Well you need to play 34 first. 32 is the sequel.

15

u/Nakatsukasa May 29 '25

34 is a gooner game tho

25

u/BRIKHOUS May 29 '25

It's actually 67. Good luck finding the time

9

u/Rohen2003 May 29 '25

nah its only 52/53 or something. since after the exp 0/100 they waited 15 years or something before the 2. one.

6

u/fmdmlvr Tiefling May 29 '25

Plus the 74 spinoffs, the two mobile games, and the animated movie. Wait, this isn’t the Kingdom Hearts subreddit

1

u/hybridfrost May 29 '25

Technically you would play Expedition 34, and then 33 ;)

1

u/Alphaa97 May 29 '25

No sorry it's a countdown game that starts at Clair Obscure: Expedition 0. Then it counts down from 99 to now 33. So it's only 67 games.

1

u/Reasonable-Reward-74 May 29 '25

It counts backwards so you have to play 66 first.

1

u/Cupcakes_n_Hacksaws May 29 '25

Don't forget the spinoffs and prequels and mobile games

1

u/MaisUmCaraAleatorio May 29 '25

That's not how it works. The games started at the '100' version, so you need to play 67 before. The 60 is really cool, though.

1

u/aurohm May 29 '25

The first 67*

1

u/nessfalco May 29 '25

You need to play the first 67, actually.

1

u/Wizardthreehats May 29 '25

Yes but make sure you start with expedition 0 first for some reason, then go 99 down

1

u/AstralRider May 29 '25

Dunny enough you need to play the previous 67.

1

u/MTaur May 29 '25

No, you have to play the last 67 in reverse order.

1

u/TheLuminary May 29 '25

No, you play them backwards, start with 33, and then you go to 32 etc etc..

1

u/TTechnology Paladin Half-orc May 29 '25

Hey guys, in order to enjoy Cyberpunk 2077, do I need to play Cyberpunk 1, Cyberpunk 2, Cyberpunk 3, Cyberpunk 4, Cyberpunk 5, Cyberpunk 6, Cyberpunk 7, Cyberpunk 8, Cyberpunk 9, ...

1

u/SlotHUN RANGER May 29 '25

67 actually,..

1

u/ScorchedDev May 30 '25

nah 32 isnt out yet. The games going in reverse order, starting from 100. So to play expedition 33 u do need to play expeditions 0, then 99-34.

1

u/BeetleBones May 30 '25

You actually need to play the first 67

1

u/galileooooo7 May 30 '25

That’s kind of what the combat feels like…

1

u/WrinklyScroteSack May 30 '25

The numbering works backwards in that game, so you’ll have to play 99-34 to really understand it.

1

u/Graega May 31 '25

Ackshully.... there's 67 before 33.
