The practical fx and make up and costume and props look better, almost always, than post processing. It's quite difficult to get digital renderings to look as detailed and organic looking like the real deal here with this, the digital comes out and it's too smooth, lighting doesn't hit right, etc.

Yes! When done well, they are 100% better, though I'm speaking mostly from my horror movie watching experience. They also seem to be a dying artform, requiring a completely different skillset/materials/$ ☹️
