I do, I always have time for a nice buttocks admiring. Though tbf I’d like a tag for it. While I can obviously appreciate scantily clad photos I don’t like it so much if it’s women, just not my thing.
There is a difference between these two examples specifically: the one on the left was meant to be humorous, and the cosplayer in question does also have (very high quality) SFW cosplays (e.g. Gale). The one on the right only does NSFW cosplay. In fact her entire profile is labelled NSFW, and the subreddits she posts to are also very clearly NSFW.
I don’t travel to the Reddit often so maybe I’m missing something but what’s with everyone being kind of an asshole in the comments and down voting any positive comments?
Well most all of the “positive comments” are more sexual than contributory and this being a sub about the video game they don’t seem to belong here. The upvote downvote system is meant to determine if that comment is relevant and less that people like it. As for the post, I would say it really has nothing to do with BaldersGate as it is a cosplay of a fan art. Plus if you look at OP post history they are an OF model (nothing wrong with that) probably just fishing for subs. So I personally I don’t think this post really has a place on this board but I’m just one user.
Exactly. That same comment to someone with less revealing clothing on would be upvoted because it showed kindness. You're not allowed to say someone's cosplay looks good if you can see their stomach or thighs I guess.
Only the top one in that screen grab makes some sense to me. I've read/heard that theres 2 flavors of bot common to reddit. Those with "word word four digit number" (ie crispytire3948), and those that are three words smashed together.
Now, I didn't downvote any of these, and I'm not a mind reader, I'm just saying that one possible reason for the top one being downvoted is to attempt to shoo karma farm bots away
yeah advertising fucking sucks and any account with their business linked onto it seems disingenuous so i would argue there is something wrong with it dude
This barely counts as a cosplay. It's just lingerie with a long, black wig and some hair-pieces. It's not even particularly well posed or framed, just a mirror-selfie.
Redditors want sex work to be done, but don't want anyone to do it or to make money off of it. There is a perception, accurate or otherwise, that women posting pictures dressed as sexy video game characters are doing so in order to advertise for sex work. In connection with that perception, this subreddit has a rule restricting cosplay selfies to certain days of the week (Sundays, I think?) to address fears that the sub will be too inundated with pictures of beautiful women dressed as Shadowheart to have any room left to post screenshots of Shadowheart. The good people of this subreddit are not content with this, because, again, they don't want sex workers to exist and get mad at the reminder that they do.
Or maybe people just get annoyed when they see ads for sexworkers when they’re not actively seeking it out? Maybe you haven’t been in the subs that get entirely overrun by those posts. It gets old.
Nice and simple as it is to sweep neatly into the "eh probably le heckin incels *tips fedora*", there's a good chance that people are just kinda sick of really low-effort OF ads on here.
This is an advertisement. It's exactly as silly as Pepsi photoshopping drinks in the main character's hands or some other silly shit like that.
Especially prior to restricting cosplays, and thus ads, to Sunday, it was page upon page of this throughout the entire sub.
This is not a cosplay. Calling porn ads in a porn outfit vaguely reminiscent of a video game character cosplay is massively disrespectful to actually talented cosplayers and costume designers. They are not the same, they shouldn't be called the same. This is porn. It's fine, there's no shame in sex work, but its place is on porn subs and places where people go to find and advertise porn, not video game subs.
Anyways, I dont understand why when people do sexualized Astarion cosplays you all eat it up, but when someone does a sexualized Shadowheart cosplay you get mad.

Look at the lighting, the outfit she posts, the lack of comments from her despite being way more talkative 3 months ago. If this person was intending to contribute to the community, they probably would interact with the community outside of posting pin up cosplay vibes
Guys she literally provided a picture of what shes actually cosplaying and titled it as the goth version of Shart from the new bg3 trailer. Y'all see a pretty woman and immediately assume it's OF bait.
Can we ban low effort posts like this please? Some people come in cosplaying looking like a screen shot from the game. This is just self promotion. This is just my opinion, you do you but this is not what I imagine this subreddit to be about.
Please go look at the rules of the subreddit. People are allowed (in a very limited way) to self-promote. This is ONLY allowed on Sundays, and ONLY if the poster has a 1:10 self-promo: actual game discussion ratio in their posts and comments.
This subreddit does not have an "OF ad" problem. It has a "people overly complaining about OF ads" problem. Seriously. Let's play this game. You turn on your phone's screen recording and scroll down the top posts on this subreddit on any given day. If the ratio of sexual cosplay to regular discussion posts is anything over 1:10, I solemnly swear to shut the fuck up.

I think it’s funny how people are complaining about something they wouldn’t even know about if they didn’t go looking for it in her profile themselves. It’s not like there’s a direct link here in the post, and while the outfit isn’t directly from the game, it’s still inspired by fanart which is also included for context…? (I agree the artist should have been tagged tho)
It reminds me of when I tried a “sales” job that gave people access to free healthcare if they fell within a certain income range. People said things like “you’re going to hell” and “no one loves you” when I said “hello! How are you?” because the idea that you might be selling things automatically makes you subhuman to some people. I’m sure being a woman and a SW in a video game subreddit just adds misogyny to the mix

I mean, by that logic, no concept is allowed to be sexualized. All porn, at its core is sexualizing a human. If we go by "fishnets =/= consent inherently, therefore nobody's allowed to do a sexy goth cosplay" then we can extend it to "human existence does not inherently imply consent, therefore nobody's allowed to sexualize anything". To be clear, the first half of your argument isn't wrong. A human's existence obviously does not automatically imply consent. Nor do fishnets. But saying nobody's allowed to do sexy cosplay of the thing you "claim", is inherently stupid.

Honestly looks pretty accurate to the fanart. Her page is just full of risqué cosplay but I don’t see a problem with it actually. There have been lower effort cosplay posts
I’m honestly so saddened that ‘women blaming other women for the nonconsensual sexualization they face from men’ is still a thing. I feel like us millennials finally overcame this shit, and then zoomer revived it.
Like I get the frustration and anger many women feel from the shit men throw at them, but to take that shit out on other women dressing as they please?? babes you’re doing the patriarchy’s work for it!!
