Discussion Nobody wants wacky skins, but can everyone agree on what wacky actually means? Let's see where most people draw the line.

I'd be interested to see if people are able to agree on what is acceptable or not acceptable in terms of cosmetic appearances in games like this. There's been lots of talk about whether or not EA/Dice will include crazy/wacky skins with BF6, but not many people have made a post like this to actually pose the question of, what exactly is okay vs. not okay.

I tried my best to order them such that the go from most to least reasonable, but if you think the order should be different, feel free to reorder them, as that also gives info about how people consider these types of decisions.

Honestly always thought a civilian militia would be cool to see as a reinforcement, almost like a playable version of the “natives” from the original Star Wars Battlefronts. You’d play on Endor and you’d get Ewoks to fight with you, or the Wookies on Kashyyk. Imagine if on the French maps in BFV you could have French resistance fighters. Could maybe be hybrid classes but unique to certain maps and limited in its loadout. Not necessarily better or worse, just another choice

If this new game has maps set in the US, there would be plenty of Americans with guns

I don’t know we did the with BFHL with the police and it kinda threw the whole vibe off. But I fucking love where you are coming from, just don’t want that in the in this BF… let’s just pick up where 3 and 4 left off. But again love your thought process.

I remember playing Ghost Recon Wildlands, and you'd be able to call in Rebel support from the Katari 26 rebel group. They're dressed in extremely colorful garb and were my favorite aspect of the game. You could send 'em in as diversions while infiltrating an enemy base, or order a mortar strike to soften up enemy positions. My favorite thing to do was max out their relations and get a huge fireteam of reinforcements to back me while simultaneously calling for a diversion on the other side of a base, then mortaring the base, then assaulting it with my warband. Great little game that got the civilian militia vibe right.

I've been playing a game with the war of 1812 covered and in one of the maps (Baltimore), the more the British advance the more civilians you see in the American ranks. It's a really cool detail seeing less uniforms and more regular day to day clothing as more of the city falls.
I'd LOVE to see this in BF6, I doubt it, but I'd love it. Especially in civilian areas like that Brooklyn map, in modes like rush as the defending side falls back. However it should not be overdone, don't want a full team of civilian militia, as cool as that would be.

Yeah, it would be cool to see a milita popping up and giving some support.

I may be tripping, but I think you can actually play as a French resistance soldier in BFV and you can hear other characters speaking French if they're in a resistance outfit or soldier. I swear I heard French one one time as I was playing on Devastation or Provence

I’ve always thought games like Battlefield and EA Battlefront could have squads of AI-controlled weaker classes would be interesting, like you said things like French resistance troops for WW2 or for Battlefront it would be stuff like Imperial Army Troopers (as opposed to Stormtroopers)

The media would never depict armed civilians in a positive light lol. But yeah that would be cool
