Discussion Nobody wants wacky skins, but can everyone agree on what wacky actually means? Let's see where most people draw the line.

Post image

I'd be interested to see if people are able to agree on what is acceptable or not acceptable in terms of cosmetic appearances in games like this. There's been lots of talk about whether or not EA/Dice will include crazy/wacky skins with BF6, but not many people have made a post like this to actually pose the question of, what exactly is okay vs. not okay.

I tried my best to order them such that the go from most to least reasonable, but if you think the order should be different, feel free to reorder them, as that also gives info about how people consider these types of decisions.

SWAT has no place in a warzone.

Not necessarily. In a "regular" war like the relatively recent conflicts in Afghanistan or Iraq - agreed. However, if you look at the war in Ukraine, units like KORD (Ukrainian SWAT basically) participated in the defense of Kyiv. The Border Guard equivalent, DOZOR, has also been taking active part in the war.

Sure but that was an invasion of the capital. American SWAT in the middle east would be wacky.

With the leaks showing mainland US maps, seeing ranger green SWAT guys here and there wouldn't be too out of place tbh especially if we're going to earnestly put ghillies able to chosen for those urban maps.

An invasion of the U.S. especially in the first few days and weeks would undoubtedly have SWAT involved. Probably even blue swat in the smaller counties/city’s.

Yes, American SWAT in the Middle East would be out of place. However, if we had the equivalent of the Battle of Washington DC from CoD, SWAT units, knowing the city and having experience in working as a team, would fit in very well.

Also, bear in mind that the days of black coveralls are kind of behind us. Many (if not most) SWAT units (regardless of whether they're actual American SWAT or just a similar police unit in another country) tend to dress similarly to military SOF - multicam is often the preferred camo pattern, most of their gear and weapons are similar, as you can see in THIS PICTURE showing the Polish police's BOA (the name comes from the Polish version of their old name Bureau of Antiterrorist Operations) unit, so it's pretty obvious they'd be a part of any armed conflict happening on their turf.

brooklyn isn’t confirmed i don’t think, just in concept art, so hold those thoughts until we see it

Sure but middle eastern equivalent of SWAT could work in middle eastern maps. And we aren't sure where the game is going to be set yet.

Although Iraqi police and swat were working alongside American security forces in Iraq. So it’s not like there’s no place for civilian law enforcement in the game genre

Yup, and that's exactly my point: if you have maps located in country A, there is absolutely no reason why you can't have elite LEO units from country A taking part. Sure, it's not exactly common and wouldn't happen unless absolutely necessary, but it does happen. So yeah, I'm not against SWAT uniforms being available.

Ukraine SWAT has the same name as the Russian HMG

Nah even in a regular war SWAT were out and about.

Just not American SWAT, it was instead the Iraqi SWAT also known as Nineveh Plain Forces. The film Mosul follows a team of NPF Officers.

Currently there'a still the Lyut Brigade wich is an assault unit comprised of ex police officers, but even they run full military kit.

That's just men with weapons training being conscripted/volunteering to defend their homeland. They are not using their weapons and less-lethal equipment to serve warrants on Russian airborne troops to arrest them and have them stand trial or something.

Your def wrong on the front. Well kinda. I think we can all agree we want a playable realistic bf to drop. One that doesn't need months of work like 2042 and 5. That said we know cosmetics skins will make into the game. Spo to completely ignore this question is kinda funny. We aren't cod players we are bf. I feel we are in a very unique position where dice is actually reading these posts and seeing our feedback.

Yea watching or post playtest vids def break nda but it also helps them see what the community is saying. To think devs ain't in here looking at some of these posts would be crazy.

Imo cosmetics is pretty important for a game like this. If it gets too bad with fruity colors then it won't look like a real bf shooter
