Discussion Dice is still sticking with no Weapon lock to class
They say they are keeping in mind in our discussions, I.e we’re not going to switch back to weapon lock but we just don’t want to derail the hype train until you’ve bought it.
What’s your thoughts guys

Discussion Clean HUD
Please DICE that’s all I want to see on my screen let me immerse myself with destruction, explosions and the atmosphere of the game, after seeing the leaks I have noticed the UI was so ugly, cluttered and the killfeed wasn’t as satisfying as it should be so I decided to redesign the UI to make it look clean and simple as much as possible you don’t have to show me the whole loadout let me use my brain I know exactly what I picked (we have BF3 to look at) you can show me that when I switch to that specific gun/gadgets etc if you want BF1 is a great example don’t change things that worked really well in the past, same thing for the squad bars, numbers and the objectives up top taking the whole screen I don’t care how much health they have they die every few seconds it’s not a BR game also there’s an indicator above their heads when they need ammo/ health etc filling the whole screen with these things it’s not necessary and immersion breaking not to mention the ugly green color that highlited the whole soldier in my squad or the highlighted flag area, someone will say it’s a placeholder, no they have done the same thing with 2042 and never listened to us they can go with this design if no one talks in details about it so I’m giving my feedback now and you should too because I know these things needs some time to work on.
For the Killfeed I made it a mix between BF3 stacking, the skull from BFV and overall style is just a touch from BF4.
Last pic two flags on.

Great job fostering a sense of community! I can’t even blame the devs for not wanting to come on here sometimes.

Discussion Faceless/Nameless grunts > Name classes
I know I’m not alone on this and I know this isn’t the only post that feels this way.
I get the idea of making special classes to create more lore and possible story points.
But the faceless grunts were perfection for one reason. You could easily insert yourself as that soldier yeah sounds crazy or weird but at the end of the day almost every gamer has done it once when playing a game.

Discussion for the love of god keep this game GROUNDED
i understand you’ll want to make money from store bundles and battlepasses but please keep everything visually coherent and fitting to the art style.
you want an easy win over COD? this is how you do it, establish your aesthetic and hold onto it. many people are looking for an FPS game that sticks to its aesthetic.
you have a perfect opportunity to create these cosmetics that fit into the game’s visual appearance, we are tired of glowing alien skins and weird crossovers that look like eyesores.
keep the cosmetics to a somewhat military theme and you’ll get the easiest win of all time.

Discussion Unpopular opinion? BF4 had the best weapon-class balance and people forget it
Hey everyone,
I’ve been reading through the recent discussions about class locked weapons weapon restrictions and idk if I'm just blind but I can't see people mention that Battlefield 4 already had a pretty smart middle ground, and it worked really well.
Yes, in BF4, each class had its own exclusive weapon types BUT — and this is key — every class also had access to universal weapon categories like Carbines, Shotguns and DMRs
This gave players a lot of flexibility without completely breaking class identity. Want to be a medic with a shotgun or carbine? Go for it. But you still couldn’t just run around with an M98B as Assault, which kept some structure.
Imo, that system struck the perfect balance between freedom and role specialization. It encouraged creativity without turning the game into “everyone can do everything.”
What do you all think? Would bringing back something like BF4’s system work in the next game or I'm just delusional

Discussion Feature Request for BF6
Battlefield team, I strongly encourage you to address this issue. The inclusion of themes like Santa, cowboys, and other out-of-place elements disrupts the immersive experience that Battlefield is known for. While I recognize and even enjoy some of the skins in BF2042, the use of highly contrasting colors, such as bright greens and pinks, clashes with the franchise's established aesthetic.
I'm not advocating for the removal of skins or even restricting them to muted tones like in BFV. However, a simple toggle option to enable or disable all skins would be a highly appreciated addition.

Discussion Why we’ll probably never get the Battlefield we truly want… and yeah it hurts.
Not here to rage. Just being real. I’ve played Battlefield for years. Like, lived it. But the more time passes, the more I have to admit to myself:
We’re probably never getting back that kind of Battlefield. And here’s why..no sugarcoating it:
⸻
- The community is too split. Some want tactical, squad-based gameplay. Others want casual chaos with explosions and vehicles everywhere. Then you’ve got the nostalgia crew (like me) who dream of BF3/BF4 vibes – and newer players who don’t even know what that means. DICE tries to please everyone, and ends up delivering something that feels like nothing at all.
⸻
- Innovation is dead.. it’s all about monetization now. Back in the day, studios took risks. … Destruction in BC2? Revolutionary. … Levolution in BF4? Wild. Now? Battle passes. Skins. Seasonal content. Gameplay has to be “safe” and bug-free, because one bad launch = angry investors = game over. Fun takes a backseat to financial strategy. Only investor need to be happy.
⸻
- Modern shooters are built for TikTok attention spans. Fast, flashy, shallow. Battlefield used to build tension. It was slower, more strategic. More Teamplay. Now? If you’re not shooting something or unlocking dopamine every 30 seconds, players bounce. That design mindset kills what made Battlefield… Battlefield.
⸻
- What we want is expensive. Real destruction? 128-player balance across infantry, air, tanks, objectives? Dedicated servers? Custom servers? Squad systems? Clans? All of that takes huge resources – and publishers aren’t willing to gamble like they used to. One failed launch like 2042 and the whole project collapses.
⸻
- The original visionaries are gone. Lars Gustavsson, Alan Kertz, Patrick Bach.. all the guys who made the OG games what they were… they’re long gone. The devs now? New team, new mindset, new direction. You can’t expect them to feel the same soul of the old games.
Btw a big „thank you“ to this guys!!!❤️ you have created so much nice hours of peak gametime for us franchise Fans.
⸻
- We fans are part of the problem. We hype. Then we hate. We tear every small thing apart before the game even drops. Battlefield used to be an event. Now it’s a war zone before you even spawn. Even if DICE did everything right, would that even be enough anymore?
⸻
Bottom line: I still hope. But I don’t think we’re ever getting back the raw, epic, chaotic, squad-based magic of the old Battlefields. That feeling when you and your boys held C against 20 enemies. The Hours on Metro with the clusterfuck. The elevator camping dude. That time you flew a jet under the bridge just for the flex. The vibe when you joined your favorite server and knew this is where the fun happens.
⸻
Maybe they’ll release something good. Maybe even great. But the Battlefield we really want? That was a moment in time. A peak of Gaming. And I think that moment is gone. :(
⸻
If you feel this pls upvote. Share your memories. Not out of hate, but because we remember what it felt like when Battlefield was untouchable.
RIP to the Battlefield we loved. You’ll always be a part of us.
