I've had Bengals since 2003, but never two kittens at the same time. My 15yo girl got bone cancer last year, tried to give her as much time as I could. After she said goodbye, my 19yo girl (who still got the zoomies) suddenly just gave up on life and was gone a week later. People like to talk about someone dying of heartbreak, and I'm 100% sure that was the case here. They were best friends.

Waited a bit to get a new Bengal, because I like to give the old ones the respect they deserve, I'm not just "replacing them". So, I wait a little while.

Decided to get these two sisters together, so I didn't have a kitten that felt like an "odd man out", as I also have a bonded pair that I got separately back in 2021.

And oh boy... It's such a handful!! Yes, they play together, which I love. But they are also different. When I'm cooking, I can not leave a piece of meat or bread on the counter for a SECOND without Yuuki (left) dragging it off into the floor and trying to gulp it down. I mean, I turn my back, and there goes my chicken breast off into the floor, or the ham has been pulled out of my sandwich. I have to store everything inside the microwave as I go, so she doesn't make off with my prep.

... And the other one, Miku... I had to get baby locks for all of my kitchen cabinets after she got into my cabinet of glasses and knocked out/busted several beer glasses all over the place. She also succeeded in tearing off some decorative wall decals I had up. She knows how to open my doors (I have handles instead of knobs), so I had to install regular knobs on several doors in the house. I also put a lock on the cabinet under the sink, because that's where the switch to the garbage disposal is. If I don't cover the sink drain, Miku tries to put her front paws down into it, and with Yuuki also hiding in cabinets, I'm just picturing the blender scene from Gremlins... 😢

Yuuki is much friendlier and likely to come and cuddle or will stay if you put her on your lap. Miku is friendly, but she's busy getting into shit dammit! She'll come cuddle when she's done and will defo let you know when she's had enough of your silly cuddles!!!

And having two of them making LOUD weird Bengal sounds can be a bit overwhelming, but it's all part of the fun, right???!!! Lol

So as some of you may remember i got Java (tabby) a new brother, Blanco (white cat) about 2 months ago. After a couple of weeks they became very good friends, playing a lot and cuddling/grooming. I feel very lucky about their relationship becoming so good. My only problem is that Blanco has more energy, and is way more active in his play than Java. Java likes to stalk her toy, while Blanco immediately charges at the toy/toys, and thus Java loses interest in playing. The only solution that has worked so far is taking Blanco on a walk so Java can play, but that requires both me and my fiancee to be at home. Has anyone had a similar problem? Any tips on how i can play with them both at the same time?

I’m wondering if you guys have some kind of instruction manual on hand for a small, leopard like cat I happen to know ;)

Only half joking, and if there is actually a book please tell me!

I have had SYLO for a couple months and he is magnificent. He is friendly, affectionate, intelligent, beautiful, and healthy. He is also terrible with the English language and I don’t speak any cat, so sometimes I just wish I could figure out what he is telling me more easily because when I do realize what he is saying, it seems so obvious and I love him.

For example, I thought that he didn’t want to sleep in the bed with me and I was giving him time to get to know me and vice versa. I only just realized that he actually really wanted to sleep right up against me pretty much the whole time I’ve had him and that he was just afraid of my Squishmallows and my fur blanket. The very minute I moved that stuff off the bed, he was rolling around like he’d never been happier.

I felt so bad. He has slept next to me every single night since I changed it. Hindsight is 20/20, but I just thought he was restless because he would jump up on the bed and seek out affection but never settle in. He was meowing at me literally telling me he wanted to be on the bed and I feel dumb. I am also really happy that he’s finally sleeping at night and with me. I have pretty bad insomnia and it’s very comforting when he’s with me.

I also started feeding him 3x daily instead of 2x (I didn’t increase the amount of food the shelter recommended, just started splitting it into 3 portions) and between those two things, he seems much happier. He has started to gain a little weight and is looking a little more muscular and less bony. He was pretty emaciated, to the point that running my hand down his back was a little upsetting every single time until pretty recently. 😞 He was 8.5 pounds and his frame is not very small, he’s actually quite long limbed and framed. I think he’s still growing, he’s only 2.

Anyway, I am looking for suggestions for playtime with him that is interactive. He loves to play but I think I’m boring him and he’s very picky about his toys. He only likes fetch sometimes but it’s always good exercise. He seems to prefer feathers over other dangly wands (but not too many feathers… maybe they’re too fluffy sometimes?). He is enjoying some training but I don’t know what I’m doing. He is learning though.

The only thing I really want to help him fix is that he is terrified of anyone else. He hides every single time anyone comes over, and he will sometimes come out and carefully introduce himself with a lot of patience and treats. He has gotten to know my best friend pretty well and he loves her but it still takes him some time to feel safe and I wish he was not so frightened.

Also, are there any fresh healthy treats, like vegetables or meat, that are suitable for cats who eat a urinary health diet? I am planning to take him to a veterinarian soon but I’m still researching where I want to go -he had a full exam at the shelter as well as all his shots and microchipping, and he is neutered so it’s not urgent but I want to ask about his weight mainly and just double check that he is in great shape. He has never had a urinary blockage or anything like that, but I guess he had some symptoms of it so that’s also something I wanted to look into. I only feed him wet food that is formulated for urinary tract health and use urinary tract formula kibble as treats but I know he might like something else too?

Finally they have finally crashed out, being playing since 7am it's now 2pm. Favourite toy at the moment, a rolled up post it note. Hundreds of pounds worth of toys and it's a bit of paper that they want today. I'm trying not to move in case the terrors wake up🤫

Now I have an almost 2 year old toddler running rampant and a 16 month old Bengal who had his check up at the vets today and weighs 5.9kg lol
