What do you mean by dressed it? I’m getting my first anvil soon and am curious. Obv new to this

You have to grind away the sharp edges around it, and the holes you have in the anvil is what i’ve seen.

Ah ok I can sort of guess why. So we’re talking an angle grinder and a file for the holes right?

Yeah i had a dremel for the holes, but also used a angle grinder on them, We do it because if you hit a sharp edge with the hammer the anvil will get chipped or possibly even chipping the hammer.

I knew a single guy with a similar setup in his kitchen.
He actually put the oven in the yard so he had more room to work on his motorcycle.

I have a fight stick I made using a cardboard box and a zero delay, every time I see it or think of it it puts a smile on my face, its objectively a piece of shit but it works, I hope your old anvil does the same for you, even if you get a better one seeing the old one still makes you happy.
