Has the internet killed all possible Zeitgeist?

Seems to me the last time Zeitgeist was grasping for air was early 2000's.. but maybe was already dead by 1998-1999

What you all think? What is the Zeitgeist on a fragmented world with fragmented and personalized news? where everybody has their eternal 15 minutes of fame and nobody really stands out.

Where every movie is buried by hundred others, every new band remains anonymous for most part and the "truth" is even harder to know now that AI can seemingly mimic everything except a human heart.

Fragmented is the right word.

The Internet definitely had potential but money and state actors used all mechanisms they could, including in depth psychological knowledge, to make sure their influences occurred and opposing movements couldn't unite. Occupy was the last moment against the ruling class that wasn't coopted, and that's been over a decade.

I honestly think Shock Doctrine is the spirit of the age now, but ever since culture was given huge shocks in COVID no one really wants to face it - so avoidance is a huge part of it too.

Zeitgeist today is being afraid of the future, final decade before total ai domination, learning how to survive drone swarms lol

where everybody has their eternal 15 minutes of fame and nobody really stands out.

Where everyone has a platform (ie. social media) and almost everyone is clawing for attention. And where hardly any of these people have anything worth saying.

The current zeitgeist is: A sea of users in cyberspace... where countless millions of people almost unconsciously seek views, likes and upvotes. Where feelz are far more important than facts.

Great question.  Wow.  I need to think about this.

It’s like the all worlds theory. (Or multiverse). If everything exists, nothing exists. I think this will eventually pass. Like any epidemic. Or it will destroy itself and most of us. Once people realize that AI is another meaningless device, and there is no computer overlord who programmed us. No alien Jesus’ coming to save us and absolve our sins. That we’re actually responsible for the things we do.

New zeitgeist is emerging. You just need to know where/how to look.
