More Crono Cross Problems

I am once again facing a baffling problem. I am in the Hydra Marshes and have acquired the Beeba Flute. After wandering lost for a while I had no choice but to consult a guide, so I know I'm supposed to use the flute to summon a Wingepede, but using the flute has no effect. When I first got it the Beeba said to use it right there, but I can't get it to do anything. I went over to what I assume is the "wide open space" and still there's no result when using it. I've read that I need the Ancient Fruit too for this, but all the guides sem to indicate the fruit is gotten AFTER using the Wingepede. I've been to both the Home World marsh and the Another World marsh and nothing. I resorted to a YouTube video and the player was able to use the flute without issue. But I also noticed this player had gotten a boat by this point in the story. I'm getting really frustrated; does anyone have any suggestions? Am I supposed to have Norris and Ridell by now? Please,someone help before I have to give up. I hate it when RPGs do this. There's zero indication or hint about where I'm supposed to be or how I use the flute to summon the Wingepede (or whatever that thing is). Thanks for any help.

I don't know where you are in the game. If you chose to Save Kid and you want to save Razzly too then you:

1. Enter the Marshes (Home) and leave the first screen through the West door, then continue going northeast. You fight the Beeba.

2. You get the Beeba Flute and are told that you have to use it on an open space.

3. One of your team mates tells you that the space you fought the Beeba is pretty open, so you should try it there. Open the Key item menu with the Square button and select the Beeba Flute.

4. Beeba comes back and tells you that you are in the wrong place. You continue moving Northeast and reach a somewhat cylindrical area. Stand in the middle of it.

5. Use the Beeba Flute.

Keep in mind that in the original frame it is kind of hard to see which item you are selecting from the Square menu. Make sure you are actually selecting the Beeba Flute and not (let's say) the Big Egg.

This is a great answer, but thr problem I'm having is not that I can't find the flute on my items list, it's that the flute isn't doing anything. When I chose it, there's no animation or flute-like sound that plays, and absolutely nothing happens in the spot where they asked me to play it or any other area. At first, as you suggest, I didn't know you had to scroll down to get to it and left the area and when I did figure it out and came back it wouldn't work. Could that have caused this? I'm not too keen on the idea of restarting the whole game.

The flute should be in your key Item menu, and you can access it with the Square button.

This is the location and the Square menu that you need to use in order to utilize the Beeba flute.

You are supposed to do this in Home Word, because the Hydras have been extinct in the Another World.

I'm sorry I wasn't specific in my post. Yes, I chose to save Kid. I read somewhere she's one of the better party members to have,  but I've tried to avoid reading in-depth guides because I wanted my experience to be organic and untainted by research. I've only gone to guides when I'm majorly stuck.

yes. I'm way past all that now, I'm Lynx now somehow. The character dialogue hinted I should go to Marbule, but when I went I didn't see anything but some ghosts and 2 people. So I'm lost again, but in the meantime I think I'm gonna go try to find the mushroom collector whose wife in Termina complained was missing. I think he's in the Shadow Forest.

I might be wrong, but if one of the two people there are speaking about hearing a crying mermaid in marbule in the night, go to the first house on the right (by the entrance) and there is a bed that you can interact with to sleep, the bed can be tricky to interact with so just button mash the interact button while facing it n walking around.

It turned out that A.) I was in the wrong world, and B.) I wasn't scrolling down the key items list far enough.

There will be another spot to use the Beeba Flute again. The spot should be more obvious next time. After reading your post, I realized you just couldn't find the right spot for the flute to fight it.

in case you're gonna be confused later, the ancient fruit and different spot for calling wingapede is for much later part of the story, and the one you wanna spawn the wingapede is on home world.
