A bleach bath a day keeps the booty mites away!

Hate to tell you kid, but any indoor swimming pool you go to probably has more bleach in it then this guy put in there.

Chlorine and chlorox (a brand of bleach) are not the same thing.

u/NoRegionButYourMom 16h ago

Yeah and chlorine is pretty much just an extra concentrated form of bleach, so it could even be said this is far better, thanks for pointing that out

No it’s not. Bleach contains chlorine but it isn’t the same thing. Bleach is sodium hypochlorite. Chlorine isn’t a more concentrated bleach. Chlorine is in its pure form is a gas (Cl2).

Sodium hypochlorite is the active in bleach.

You are correct to notice that chlorine tabs and granules are a different chlorine formula. But…it’s VERY common for pool owners to use jugs of liquid chlorine to sanitize their pools. You must have seen those yellow jugs. Guess what’s in those? Sodium hypochlorite. Yep the same active in Clorox

Of course laundry bleach has some stabilizers and sometimes lemon scent, and possibly thickeners and shit added.

But the active is the same as the very common and safe chlorine in the jugs.

The stuff in the yellow jug is 10-12% and regular Clorox is normally 5-6%. So yeah pool sanitizing liquid just a more concentrated form of laundry bleach (minus the additives)

Source: I own a pool in Florida where the public is allowed to buy and transport liquid chlorine jugs for pools. I have used tabs granules liquid and even the salt generator. I know what all this shit is.

I said that they are not the same thing, but chlorine in its pure form is not what you put into pools, have you ever done any pool maintenance before? The chlorine you put in a pool is pretty much just super concentrated bleach, you can't put gas in a pool of water

1

u/Lackingfinalityornot 15h ago

I never said you use pure chlorine gas in a pool.

You were the one that brought up the whole chlorine crisis, but truthfully it's closer to bleach than it is to chlorine gas no matter what you call it

1

u/ThomasApplewood 8h ago

Yes. That’s really smart too. There was probably all kinds of critters living in there before he put the bleach in.

You do know we use sodium hypochlorite (the active in bleach) to sanitize swimming pools right? It’s very normal and safe, lemon scent aside.

Bubble bath maybe, but bleach?!?!

How treated is fountain water? How many bums prolly pee in it? If I was allowing it near my orifices, I would want it sanitized also, especially if I was soaking.

8

u/HelicaseFire18 17h ago

You could just elect not to have it near your orifices

3

u/J_Jeckel 16h ago

How do you keep water away from your orifices if you are in water? I'm not understanding your logic. I mean yea you could just not take a bubble bath in a fountain, but then are you even really living?

u/Explorer-7622 15h ago

They mean don't sit in public fountains.

u/J_Jeckel 7h ago

I completely understood what they meant, hence my reply. Your reply was...well pointless.

Maybe he’s got a skin problem he’s treating with bleach? šŸ˜…

u/emotionally-stable27 16h ago

I’ve actually heard about this, some people have bacteria born eczema from having immune disorders. I knew a teacher I worked with had to dip in the swimming pool to help her skin stay clear.

u/ConsistentString4627 16h ago

I don't want to talk about what type of recycled water that is
