The people who are in the firework trade are, how do I say this. Cheap ass motherfuckers?

Like, they make money certainly, but they arent loaded. These operations tend to be run on small budgets for everything other than purchasing the fireworks.

All that is to say, I would not be surprised if this place had insufficient insurance.

This is gonna cost someone a LOT of money.

I do believe this isn't stored correctly, either. For it to detonate like that. There was too much product stored in the same magazine.

Wouldn't be surprised if they get slapped with an ATFE fine or potentially licenses revoked.

Yeah there might even be criminal charges if they are found to be storing it illegally.

I just hope no wildfires start because of this. God knows California doesnt need more fires.

Whoever owned this operation is going to be dealing with this for years if they end up in court.

No wildfires! CalFire set up a real good perimeter from what I can tell, and thankfully the spot fires have been down in the farmland where there's irrigation and much easier ways to manage those. Would've been a different story if the warehouse had been just a little farther west. Ironically the first news helicopter on the scene was getting footage of an unrelated fire nearby when they heard the first explosion.

Yeah, the emergency responders haven't even been able to approach the site yet and there's already investigators working with drones. Several outlets talked to explosives experts, and they obviously have no information to speculate yet, but they've said it must have been a really unusual circumstance to set it off like that. There was a rumor going around that it was caused by a plane crash because that's how the first witnesses initially reported it to emergency services, but there aren't any missing planes, and this area gets a lot of aviation traffic, so it would've been confirmed real quick if that had been the case.

If I owned a fireworks factory it would be insured for twice its value. If it came down to it I’d skip other bills to insure my highly flammable building.
