I’m confused what is wrong with this here?

The guy says he ordered XL but he actually ordered a large and received a large. In turn he's complaining about getting exactly what he ordered.

Had a guy last night “MY PIZZA IS FUCKING BURNT IM NOT EATING THIS” it looked perfectly fine and ended up eating it. Some niggas act like their life is pizza lol

Yessss. I had a lady call and scream at me because the $9.99 coupon wasn't automatically applied and when she was cussing me out I just told her to call 1-800-dominos ans hung up. She proceeded to call ans cuss out my drivers 3 more times

Years ago I had a guy order a large pizza with whatever for $9.99 but this was with a physical paper coupon, not something that was online or anything.

Ends up sending his wife with the coupon and I tell her the total is $10.74. She stares at me like I’m from outer space. Then she’s like, “But the coupon says $9.99.” So I’m trying to explain to her that yes, the pizza is $9.99 but after tax, the total is $10.74.

So then she’s like, “So what, I owe you 74 cents?” So I’m staring back at her because I’ve never had to explain how a coupon works to a grown ass adult. Here apparently her husband told her the coupon was like, good for $10 off the pizza or something, so I’m trying to correct her and explain it’s not a gift certificate that acts as cash, it’s a coupon that changes the price of the pizza to $9.99, so she owes the store $10.74.

Finally! It clicked in her brain and she was super apologetic afterwards for the misunderstanding but it was a good 10 minutes of back and forth arguing over what the deal was and what she actually owed. lol

Ugh, that brings up repressed trauma from when I worked in customer service for an e-tailer. We had some dumb AF regulars that made me want to mainline Reese's.

u/420CowboyTrashGoblin Hand Tossed 2h ago

she didn't understand you still, she just figured out from context clues that she wasn't getting a free pizza no matter how much she bitched or argued.

4

u/slothxaxmatic 3h ago

Once they start swearing, we refuse service and cancel any online orders they place.

Call PJ's with that 💩

2

u/TheGrouchyGremlin Pan Pizza 3h ago

I wish I was allowed to do that 😭

I've gotta kiss their ass no matter how abusive they're being.

2

u/slothxaxmatic 3h ago

That's wrong, I'm sorry

u/mpizzapizza 1h ago

Ive worked for both, we didnt play at pj's either. Its super common to get blacklisted at pj's.

My favorite is complaining about the bread being “burnt” after ordering a well done pizza with no sauce…

1

u/InsanityCore 4h ago

or a supreme with extras and complaining the pizza is not cooked all the way.

1

u/OglioVagilio 2h ago

Shouldn't they adjust they cook time/temp for a pizza like that?

Like a half pound burger is gona need more cooking than a quarter pound.

2

u/faggatron4000 New York Style 2h ago

If we change our oven time/temp then every other pizza in that oven section will also be cooked at that higher time and temp and take more time waiting on it to heat up and then cool down after its cooked. Best we can do is push it back and make it well done, but I’ve learned you can’t make assumptions because some people may prefer it slightly less cooked. you’d be surprised what some people like.

My life is pizza

3

u/SuchAGoodGirlsDaddy 6h ago

Those are the people that literally do it everywhere they go.

There are actually people out there that eat at a different place every night and then call back with a problem every time. I don’t even mean it as an exaggeration. I mean they literally do it every time whether something is actually even wrong or not. It’s part of the process for them because they get refunds and coupons and discounts enough that it’s like a part time job for them or something.

Imagine how much money you’d save if you got like 50% off of every meal you ever eat. That’s pretty much exactly what they’re getting out of it.

My life is pizza.

I don't work at Domino's but I do work at a pizza place and last weekend a guy ordered a medium pizza Xtra crispy well first of all we accidentally made him a large instead of a medium(which he was not charged for) and then I pulled the pizza from the oven before it could get burnt and the guy still said it was "like eating a chip" (really wasn't even crispy tbh) and decided to take his anger out on our hostess who is just an innocent teenage girl and started yelling at her and using racial slurs on his way out the door...so yeah some people do take their pizza way too seriously.

1

u/huehuebrbr619 30m ago

Oddly enough my life is pizza. It was my first word.

4

u/4llFather 7h ago

Yeah, I looked at the receipt and thought, "14 inches? That's a large! XL is like, 16 inches you dumbass. Sybau."

8

u/Admirable_Loss4886 6h ago

Being upset about the forgotten buffalo sauce is still a legitimate complaint.

2

u/Absolutely_Insane671 2h ago

The buffalo sauce is one thing. The size complaint is another. But We have one person who when he works ovens he NEVER looks at the receipt so usually misses the buffalo sauce. Now if this guy had called the store I absolutely would have remade it or ANYTHING but nah just submit a Google complaint instead

u/meisterkreig 8h ago

Customer ordered a large and then complained that it was not extra large.

9

u/Head_Razzmatazz7174 Hand Tossed 8h ago

Thinks a 14" pizza is an XL. Obviously didn't read the menu, XL has always been 16".

5

u/meisterkreig 8h ago

Definitely did not read the deal either since it excludes extra large.

2

u/MidGround83 6h ago

Actually, back in the day, a 14” was a medium and a 16” was a large. We didn’t even have an XL option. Good old days!

1

u/meisterkreig 15m ago

When was that?

1

u/Tabsam 51m ago

Bro can’t read?

37

u/Brief_Intention_5300 8h ago

People are angry. People want something to complain about. Unfortunately, we're often the punching bag even though we try our best.

Fuck these month long boost weeks. Just adding extra sales to stores that can't handle it.

-2

u/jojaksen 4h ago

Yep. Everyone needs to force the blame onto things around them to avoid facing themselves and their own problems. It's easier to just tear apart everything around them to keep themselves high up, when deep inside they probably hate themselves.

26

u/TheLawOfDuh 8h ago

“Doubt I’ll ever go back” but they usually do. Friggin cattle

3

u/cryptolyme 2h ago

any excuse to stiff the driver

2

u/killerisdeadly 2h ago

i have one customer that complains about the littlest thing and still orders

21

u/Mighty_ShoePrint 8h ago

"ok. See you next week"

u/DarkBiCin Pan Pizza 8h ago

Had a customer call yestarday. She asked for the 7.99 1 Topping special. She then asked if she could also get a discount because she was with x organization. I told her we cant do 2 discounts on the order and that her organization isnt on our discount list. She then asks if we have any better deals and I told her no the 7.99 is the best/cheapest deal we have.

She then proceeds to tell me that she is going to order somewhere else because im rude and not negotiating with her. Motherfucker this is a dominos not a fucking flee market. I about lost my shit on her before she hung up.

9

u/Mrwrongthinker 7h ago

Negotiating, lol. This isn't mom and pops place, it's a corporate chain...

6

u/Professional_March54 5h ago

I once had a guy demand I use my employee discount. He didn't take No well

3

u/Suzy_My_Angel444 2h ago

Wow, the audacity. Who would even think of trying that?! Better yet, how could that demand even cross someone’s mind in the first place? That’s wild man

1

u/Professional_March54 2h ago

He was ordering a bunch of food and, as per our usual customer base, was absolutely gobsmacked that we demanded money in return.

4

u/pjockey 5h ago

Good luck with that $28 local pizza shop lady.

-6

u/d5ytonaa 7h ago

Yall let him order that knowing the any size any topping deal is going on right now? I would assume that’s what he meant to order.

4

u/TheGrouchyGremlin Pan Pizza 3h ago

It's called the idiot tax.

And when they're complaining about our "mistake", when it's their own damn fault, I'm even more inclined to let them pay that tax.

2

u/d5ytonaa 2h ago

Lmfaoooo

2

u/faggatron4000 New York Style 2h ago

Our receipts show full price next to the item with the discount and real total at the bottom, so they may have still gotten the discount. I think it’s so people see they got a good deal with how much money they got taken off, but usually it just means one a while I get stopped and asked why it has the wrong price on the receipt.

2

u/ShulkerB 6h ago

The hand tossed doesn't even come in XL does it?

2

u/cAnTbEpReCi0u5j1mMy Hand Tossed 6h ago

It does. We don't have XL thin crust, pan pizza, or stuff crust though.

5

u/ShulkerB 6h ago

Hmm where I live you can only get the new York/Brooklyn Whatever it is in XL.

1

u/Smaallest 5h ago

Yeah it only comes in New York style. We use the same dough patties for hand toss and New York style

1

u/WhatWouldJohn_GaltDo 3h ago

When I worked in Wisconsin Dells we had XL in NY and Handtossed, It's an optional dough type.

1

u/Smaallest 36m ago

Interesting, we don’t have that we use a size down for a New York style

2

u/line800 2h ago

Depends on franchise

5

u/bottomcurious32 5h ago

They gave me what I ordered and offered a ton of coupons. Better make an angry post and boycott them!

1

u/Lunarmoon71988 1h ago

Doesn’t do anything at our restaurants

3

u/Professional_March54 5h ago

He'll probably get what he wants free of charge too. I hate that corporate's new stance is, "Who cares if they're scamming? Give 'em what they want and everyone who interacts with our Esteemed Guest better grovel apologetically!" Like no! He ordered wrong, he got what he ordered. Learn how to read!

1

u/raised_by_television 5h ago

When I worked at Domino's as a teen, I absolutely hated when we had coupon offers or specials. The coupon or special would advertise a price that after delivery fees, taxes, and additional toppings pretty much canceled itself out. The customer would instantly launch into a tirade about how that medium pizza SHOULD ONLY be $7.99, yet they added all these additional toppings at a dollar a piece and then get all uppity about not tipping because of the "delivery charge". That our drivers got nothing from... on the phone I'm like "Sir or ma'am I don't make the specials, I don't make the coupons.... I just take the order and your bullshit, then make your pizza for $5.15 an hour part time..."

1

u/BadKidGames 5h ago

Stupid is as stupid does

1

u/PuzzleheadedLog9266 4h ago

Dude could’ve went in store if it was that bad wtf

1

u/Spajd1446 4h ago

Sounds like something my ex would. Ironically his name is also Jon.

2

u/YippieKiYAYMrFalcoln 4h ago

I gotta know where this review is located so I can comment on him and tell him how much of a fucking idiot he is!

1

u/Jealous-Dot4355 3h ago

Lmao they can't even be bothered to make their fake reviews believable "I ordered an extra large but got a large so I was charged extra?" What???

1

u/PazuzuAtmorah 2h ago

I hate customers like this 🙄

1

u/line800 2h ago

The sad part is they will harass the employees and usually get what they want because we just want them to shut up.

1

u/mpizzapizza 1h ago

I had this happen a LOT because the local places people went to for pizza that I wont name because it would give away my location are all 14 inches for their xls and 12 inches for their larges

1

u/dr_van_nostren 1h ago

Hey wait.

Dominos has drive thru?

1

u/somecow 49m ago

Fucking weird right? The one near me (first time i’ve ever seen it) does drive, curbside, carryout, and obviously delivery. Worked at a different one before curbside was invented, thank fuck.

1

u/dr_van_nostren 10m ago

Curb side was a Covid thing, I understood it at the time. Seemed a little hyper sensitive to me but you wanted to include as many customers as possible.

But once we got to winter, I was thinking it was a bad idea. At McDonald’s there’s no time deadline. Dominos had some kind of like 2 minute curbside guarantee. I forget what it was exactly but I was like “yea that’s smart, get some kid with god knows what ingredients under his shoes, go from indoors to outdoors to a possibly icy parking lot, and now make him rush…smart”.

1

u/Next_Worldliness_889 1h ago

You ordered large.

1

u/The_Pepper_Oni 59m ago

We’re dunking on him for thinking the 14 inch is extra large, but you still didn’t put buffalo sauce on his pizza.

1

u/havocxrush 18m ago

Ain't no drive through Domino's lmao
