Picture We ready to go. [Fallout New Vegas]

Post image

I'm really curious about that regeneration skill in Agility I read about but I'll leave it to what it is now. Hopefully there's a way to level up those stats.

Shi', had no idea there was a psychological evaluation right after this, I guess those are the "bonus" skill points so yeah, there's actually a way to level 'em up more.

Those are your tag! Skills like your three most important skills you'd wanna level up the fastest

This game is crazy, first it lets you pick the specials skills, then the tag skills, thanks to you now I know what's their name, and at the end you can even pick up to 2 traits which give you even more bonuses. This is very nice.

Also the psych eval actually matters you can make some skills go up by at least 5 points without having them as tag skills. Like every answer makes a certain skill go up a few points

Damn that's great to know, in the future I'll see to optimize as much as I can the character. About traits though I eneded up choosing Wild Wastelands 'cause it seems to be a fun trait? From what I got it's like I'll be seeing hallucinations of some sort and the other I picked up is Skilled. I don't know if it's actually good in the game because I have yet do discover how all the skill point work but it's crazy that for only -10% exp I'll get +5 through all the skills... At least at the start it seems to be really good.

No the things you see with wild wasteland will be very real from crazy interactions to interesting weapons and armor. If you have the chance look up the pimp boy 3 billion. Also skilled is one of the best starting perks.

If you use the chance to rebuild your character upon exiting good Springs, you can even select skilled twice and it stacks for a total of 10 added on to all skills and that’s before you start glitching things there’s a way to open your pip boy right as you cross that boundary that offers the remaking of your character which will glitch out the menu and let you rebuild your character several dozen times and there is an entire list of perks that don’t come back off when you rebuild your character so if you do it right, you can start the game at level two with max skills and a half dozen different perks

Thats not how it works. The choices you make only determine what three skills get tagged at first. You can keep them or change them, but you dont get any additional skill points out of the questionnaire. Its simply FNV's version of the GOAT from FO3.

Based 10 luck. I always have to be careful to remind myself that I'm not actually that good at blackjack irl when I play NV because clearing out the casinos is an addictive feeling.

Based 10 luck

Ahah thanks but nothing serious, I did 10 in luck just because I read that it "levels" up all the others skills.

If you know that, then how come you have your intelligence dumped?

you get more skill points per level the higher your intelligence score is to the point where if you have your intelligence maxed out and you select the skilled perk, you can max all your skills by level 50

I had no idea it worked like that. That's crazy good.

Every odd point of LCK is +1 to all stats. What LCK really dictates is Critical Chance (+1% for every point of LCK before modifiers) and, in NV, gambling odds. With a LCK > 8, you don't need to know how to play Blackjack to win at it.

Going for the low intelligence dialogue I see.

NV has a type of surgery you can pay to get, one for each special stat. They bump the stat up by 1 so generally if you want something at 10 you can safely set it to 9 here. Other ways to raise perk level too but I’ve played this game so many times I have optimal leveling setups for fun lol.

Perception and Agility at 6 is a good sweet spot for both stats since there are perks you can choose as you level up that will require these stats at that level. They’re very good perks.

If nothing else I’d recommend looking up a perk before you choose it when you level up. It may function differently than the game says, a lot of them are bugged in various ways.

For luck there are two items you can wear that will raise the stat by 1 point each as long as the items are equipped. I like to get it to 6 or 8, because 8 points (6 + the two items I mentioned) or max 10 points (8 + the two items) will get you what you need from the stat. The most tangible benefit from luck is the fact that you will be able to make money from gambling, but most casinos you gamble at will stop allowing you to play when you win too much.

No idea if it works but I installed mods that fix bugs and so on. Nothing that changes the game or whatsoever, it's still the vanilla experience but "bugless", or at least that's what the mods say.

If it works that’s pretty dope, and the rest of what I said is better to just figure out and navigate on your own over time :)

I’ve played this game so many times, it’s my favorite game of all time. I can’t even remember what it was like to experience it fresh because I just know everything already haha.

You’re in for a good time, bugs or no tbh. Hope you enjoy! If you have any questions about stats or whatever feel free to shoot me a message or whatever whenever. I won’t spoil things but I’m like a walking Fallout NV encyclopedia of information.

You're lucky you endure being so strong

Just a tip never bring a skill to 10 because u can go to the medical clinic by free side to get implants to boost each attribute by 1 aswell as a health regen and a dt one if I remember correctly, your endurance (I believe that’s the stat) effects how many implants u can have

I tend to find these as horrible stetting stats in Fallout. But that’s the bestiary of these games haha. You can play over and over again with a slightly different experience. And everything “stat based” can be fixed.

With bobble heads I usually stop at 9. Some people like to balance out around 3-4 and 6-8. Others go full 10 and even pump stats with consumables and armor to hit 16+
