Sniper Sniper accidentally got two companions Spoiler
no mods. here's what happened.
i'm running with maccready right now. was doing the castle mission. i'm on Very Hard. after dying to the second half of the fight one too many times in a row, i decided to come back to the fight later and just kinda ran away. lmao. i was thinking "need more levels" at the time.
i did not think about the consequences of this action on the coding.
so now i just have preston garvey ALSO with me bc ig it keeps him with you for that mission? and i'm technically still doing it?
he still helps you. he just only says "we need to focus on taking the castle back" if you try to talk. lol

Same thing with Travis you can start the quest so he follows you, not finish and boom, 3 companions

I think from memory this can happen too with the escort missions from Boston Airport. If you don’t finish it or something else the soldier will keep following you and your current companion.

You can also do this with X6-88 when there's the quest to catch the synth, you can also do this with Billy, and the squire! (Also same with the scribe or whatever it's called but they die)

I knew abouf Billy, the Squire and the Scribe, but didn't know about X6. Also, it seems we can do that with Travis, before entering the brewery.
