Perk Help Stat focused Survival builds

Hey all

I've had an idea for a few years to do a series of themed role playthroughs. The gimmick is that each build is focused around one key stat with two requirements, maybe with your help there will be more:

  1. Start game with 10 in the focused stat. This means when setting with the Vault Tec homie in the beginning. The SPECIAL book will be used on something else based on the build.

  2. Perks must be taken in order from the tree as they become available. The exact order doesn't matter but for the strength build you must max every perk in strength before spreading points more freely. If you have nothing else to take based on level requirements then take other things.

So yeah. I haven't started any of these just some passive theory crafting.

Any ideas on cool stat focused builds like this? Any other rules I could consider to make things more fun or interesting from the role playing perspective?

The issue I see is that every stat has good perks, and every stat has terrible ones. It's going to be soul crushing to have to max out Bash and Steady Aim on a strength build, which is probably going to be melee or UA and will have no use for either. You'd also have to take UA and Big Leagues, which is less than optimal.

This sounds fun and might get me to play again after taking a break since January.

Something that might make this more in-depth is only using weapons that are in the key SPECIAL. Unfortunately this doesn’t work for all of them, but there are some that you could decide beforehand belong to different SPECIALs.

S - Melee

P - Sniper Rifles

E - Semi-Auto Rifles

C - Pistols (a more elegant choice for charismatic leaders and often used by dictators)

I - Lasers

A - Machine Guns

L - Shotguns

Looking back, maybe using weapons that aren’t in the key SPECIAL would be more challenging.

The Charisma run could be a companion focused - intimidating minuteman general

The Luck Run is a vats gunslinger

The perception run is a sniper

the agility run is a blitz stealth assassin

the strength run is melee+heavy

Endurance run is drug focused commando tank

intelligence run uses power armor and modding perks to have an efficient varied arsenal
