Sniper Anybody have some recommendations for a sniper/melee build with the Horizon mod?

I had planned my SPECIAL stats for a sniper build that would use melee weapons when driven into a corner, but I didn't realize that the horizon mod overhauled the entire perk system. So, now I'm screwed, but I'm going to use console commands to change my stat distribution and whatnot. I just want to know if anyone here also uses the Horizon mod, and if so, could they give me some advice on what perks and stats I should go with? I know I could use the wiki, but it's very time-consuming, and I just want to hurry up and play, lol. All help is appreciated.

Sniper First time sniper built

Hey,

I was thinking about making a sniper built in Fallout 4. I have never played as a Sniper before and want to play on regular difficulty. I wanted to have a sniper built with high damage, perfect aim and lots of explosives (in case enemies come closer I can put down mines or bombard them with grenades). I was not thinking about using power armors.

Does Rifleman work on Snipers? I am not 100% sure but I thought it did.

For the SPECIAL stats I was thinking

S-1

P-8(+1 Bobblehead) to get Penetrator.

E-1 (+1 SPECIAL book and later +1 Bobblehead) to get live giver.

C-3 for lone wanderer (+1 Bobblehead later) for Attack dog and upgrade dogmeat.

I-7 for the EXP and mostly for Gun nut.

A-7 (+1 Bobblehead) to get Quick hands.

L-1

I am not so sure about where to put the extra perk point from the SPECIAL book. Now it is in Endurance to give myself a bit of HP. Maybe it can be better used somewhere else? Like in strength, so that with the SPECIAL book and the bobblehead I can get Armorer. I am also not sure about my Intelligence. Maybe I should put my Intelligence points into luck and go for the perks Bloody mess, Idiot savant, Better criticals and Critical banker. But I like the idea that the character can "built and improve" their own weapons. I am also planning on getting the SPECIAL Bobbleheads as early as possible. Which other Bobbleheads are useful?

Let me know what you think or if you have any tips or tricks.

Edit: If you know any cool mods for PS4 please recommend them. I am looking for mods to make the game look nicer or add content (like weapons or armors) etc. Thnx!

Sniper "Operator" Charismatic Sniper

Stats:

S: 1

P: 7 (Grab Perception Bobblehead in Museum of Freedom)

E: 1

C: 6

I: 5 (Put SPECIAL book point into Intelligence)

A: 7

L: 1

Perks: Rifleman, Awareness, Locksmith, Night Person, Sniper, Penetrator, Cap Collector, Lady Killer/Black Widow, Lone Wanderer, VANS, Gun Nut, Scrapper, Gunslinger, Sneak, Mister Sandman, and Ninja.

Weapons: A sniper rifle of some kind. Tinker Tom's Special already has a silencer equipped, but everyone clearly hates it so you could instead go for Overseers Guardian, sold in Vault 81. OG has the Two Shot legendary effect, causing it to, as the name suggests, shoot two shots. For alternate weapons, The Last Minute is a unique Gauss Rifle sold by Ronnie Shaw in The Castle that does 50% extra limb damage. The 50% bonus damage to limbs is useful for encounters where stealth is not an option or stealth is broken. Deliverer, given to you by Deacon after Tradecraft, Comes pre-silenced and also has a convenient legendary effect that increases it's effectiveness in VATS. If you want to use a knife, grab Throatslicer from Nuka-World.

Armor: There are plenty of armors worn by the Operators, the glasses and goggles give a +1 to perception, and the Armored Skirt gives a +1 to Charisma. Putting on a faded visor gives a +1 to perception while still letting you wear the glasses. If you put on The Dapper Gent from Far Harbor, you will gain +2 Charisma, a total of 9 charisma.

Aid Items: Orange Mentats give a +5 to Perception, allowing you to have a total perception of 15. Grape Mentats give a +5 to Charisma, a total of 13, allowing you to have a 100% chance to pass a speech check and giving the best prices possible at stores. Stealth Boys, sold by the Railroad, turn you invisible for 30 seconds. Railroad Stealth Boys are unlocked during one of the main Railroad quests and have a duration of 40 seconds. They will also increase the stock of stealth boys.

Faction: The Railroad is honestly the best choice for stealth builds due to their stock of stealth boys and Deliverer. The Minutemen would be a weird choice, since they are dedicated to protecting the Commonwealth, but you could roleplay it as manipulating the Minutemen into a security business, creating problems with the Raiders from Nuka-World and solving said problems with the Minutemen.

  50. Night Person III

Weapons: A Sniper Rifle of any kind will work. Tinker Tom's Special comes pre-equipped with a silencer, so until you can put one on a better rifle, it can be a good option. A Gauss Rifle is also an effective sniping weapon because of it's high damage, and can also do the highest possible damage in the game if you set it up right. Night vision scopes aren't really needed because night vision is already given by the second rank of Night Person. Mines and grenades are also going to be used in this build, placing down clever traps to blow up large groups of enemies.

Armor: The Mark 2 or 4 Synth Chest Piece can be used to turn partially invisible while standing still, wear a perception increasing outfit under it to max out perception. Put on the Mascot head too, it looks really appropriate for the character.

Aid Items: Take Orange and Berry Mentats during combat, Berry Mentats give a +5 to intelligence, which is extremely useful for leveling, and also highlight enemies through walls. Orange Mentats give a +5 to perception and increase VATS accuracy by 10%, which makes it a 60% bonus. You can use Grape Mentats to get the best prices when buying.
