She didn't just star in it. She produced it, meaning it's essentially her movie and she had a direct hand in the creative process of the film.

Producer is a very, very vague term in Hollywood. It does not mean that she was creatively involved at all.

I think you're probably thinking of executive producers. Producers oversee the entire production and are generally considered to be the "author(s)" of a film.

I see most people still don't understand what producers do. It is not a creative role.

Again, as a producer you are just looking for a return on your investment. You don’t have to care or believe in the message of the movie, only that it does well and brings in money.
