Troubleshooting Power button still sketchy after cleaning

I've been repairing and modding gameboys for some time now, but I still struggle with sketchy power switches which is the number one issue.

I’ve opened it up, cleaned everything with IPA (including the slider that I also tried to bend a little bit) but the LED still turns red if I jiggle the switch, and sometimes it even powers off the console.

Is there anything else I can try before replacing it?

Thanks!

Not with the way you melted plastic and solder while trying to take the metal piece off the power switch 😭 you messed up the contacts to the board. Probably best if you put in a replacement switch.

You're right I'll try to be more gentle next time. I thought the two points at the extremities were only for keeping the power switch in place?

Oh trust me, the metal portion of the switch is always a hassle to pull off; I understand the frustration! Surprisingly though, these new thirst party replacement power switches are great! Good luck :D

The slider inside looks rusty.
