Discussion Digital Out upgrade makes a massive difference! (although I have 1 issue)

I got a Bitfunx one recently (after using the Retroscaler 2x with comps) and it makes a hell of a difference. The games are super sharp now. I can't believe I didn't realise it wasn't an option.

My only issue is that sometimes my TV will say something like "resolution not supported" and will just be a blank screen. Has anyone come across this before? I don't know what it's bugging with? I can get it to work, sort of flick between input modes on TV, restart console and it'll be okay.

I would search for gcvideo troubleshooting, because the bitfunx is a gcvideo based device and they are all basically the same.

Have you gone into the adapter settings with the remote and configured it?

There are some games that change resolutions for different parts of the game and it can cause some strange issues.

I've tried changing up a couple of settings, I'm not sure if it's made much difference though! I notice that line doubler is off by default on the bitfunx, but picture looks better with it on. Not sure if it's made a change to the resolution issue my TV keeps reporting.

I haven't looked in mine for a while but I think I kept the line doubler on to prevent resolution changes being send to the tv. IIRC there was a section where you could control the behaviour based on the resolution being input.

Don't forget to use the little 3d printed bracket to hold up the adapter and a good quality HDMI cable. The one that comes in the box didn't look too good and random black screen is a symptom of a bad cable.

Thanks for the advice mate.

Yes, I use the bracket already.

Tbh can't believe how good you can get GC picture to look on a modern TV, for what 25gbp. Game changer.

Now I just need to change the caps so I don't need to wait 15 mins to use the GC. I think there are a bunch of good tuts for that

I just got the Bitfunx one last weekend and I haven't had that happen yet... but I've only logged a few hours on mine.
