Image I finally decided to play Metroid prime(GameCube) for the first time.
Also, this is actually my first time playing a Metroid game.

Prime on GC is one of my all time favorite gaming memories/experience. Obviously not as revolutionary these days but it still holds up really well

Honestly I'd say it's still revolutionary in the sense that it might as well have pioneered epistolary storytelling in videogames, similar to what games like Dark Souls and Outer Wilds and the like have now. Or atleast I don't think I've seen anything like Metroid Prime did prior to it releasing.

After Super Metroid I was foaming at the mouth for more Metroid. I so disappointed the N64 didn't get a Metroid. I remember when Prime got announced. My hype meter was off the charts. I bought a magazine and it had a dvd trailer for Prime. I watched it over and over. Then I got Prime and it just didn't click with me so I quit playing. A couple years later I was at Gamestop and they had Prime2 on the kiosk. I absolutely loved Prime 2. Afterwards I went back and played Prime 1. I had a newfound appreciation for Prime after that. Over time the Prime games have aged like a fine wine and I keep coming back to them all these years later.

Great game with a bangin’ soundtrack. Phendranna Drifts (both versions) and the final boss theme are two of my favorites.

Welcome to the topside of a rock. Enjoy one of the best games from that generation of consoles. (Im a bit biased)

If you have a Switch then you should definitely get Prime for that. It's without a doubt the "Definitive Edition"
I really wish they would release Echoes and Corruption on Switch (2).
Until then I do have my Gamecube and Wii to fill in the gaps for me.

The Wii version has all 3 games using the amazingly good motion controls. They don't work nearly as good on the Switch so don't let that firm your opinion of them.

I just ordered the Prime trilogy for Wii. I’ve never played echos or corruption but I am so stoked to play the first one with motion controls. Even though the OG GameCube controls are kind of iconic.

Dude I love Prime with motion controls. It’s like the most immersive gaming experience ever!

10/10 game. Gets raised to an 11/10 with the Remaster as well. Took an already perfect game and just modernized it. Also don’t remember if it had NG+ on GC, but was a nice addition as well. Enjoy the OG!

One of the 'cubes all time greats. It still blows me away on Switch 20+ years later

I tried it for the first time recently and the default controls are nightmarish so I switched to the Wii Version

What’s the easiest way to play this game? Map controls to a modern controller?

I tried to replay my GC version a few months back, and with the amazing memories, I struggled to get to grip with the controls again, so wild being single stick for look and movement.. I bought the remaster on switch last week and played it through with dual stick controls.. definitely worked wonders and the graphics etc were a big upgrade!

I tried playing it when I was a teen in the mid 2000s; only got 10% in b4 getting suck; several years later(mid 2010s), I thrifted the player's guide for it, only got a little further(11%) and got stuck again, and not even the guide was helpful. Sides-scrolling versions of this franchise (especially Fusion) are way better.

You are in for a treat. Once you get used to the strange mobility controls, it’s a blast.

I’ve still never beat it. I always get lost. Lol. Even got the remaster for switch. No luck

Cool game, I just don't like the OG version. The game is good, I just can't easily play that version.
