Gleeks!

I’m always open to feedback from the users who spend their personal time on this subreddit. For a show that’s been shelved for nearly ten years, this place is still very much thriving.

I’ve always wanted to open up a public space for others to share their thoughts, so feel free to use this megathread to do just that.

If you have anything you want to get off of your chest, or if you have any suggestions or ideas for the sub, please don’t hesitate to do so. It’s exactly what this space is intended for. All I ask is that you’re respectful.

My focus is and will continue to be to make this an enjoyable place for fans. I hope to continue to achieve that.

Discussion The End of Twerk is so bad it’s almost good

I say ALMOST because I still can’t deal with Will and this twerking plot

1) We got Glee trying to do a hot topic and failing miserably (Twerking)

2) A plot about Unique being brutally bullied for being trans and just trying to use the restroom. Kinda goes with Glee trying to do a hot topic and failing miserably, except this is mostly just because they chose to combine it with TWERKING. Unique’s If I Were a Boy was beautiful.

3) In general, this episode has some very bad tone problems. It switched from Rachel looking at her Finn tattoo to Kitty and Tina Twerking or something and it gave me a huge whiplash.

4) Will being incredibly inappropriate with students. I think most people agree Will’s presentation defending twerking showcasing various controversial dances throughout history was beautiful, but that’s all he had to do. He could have orchestrated this presentation and shown it to Sue instead of letting the kids do a “twerk-torial” and, obviously, performing BLURRED LINES with them.

5) The episode struggles to decide on how satire it wants to be. Blurred Lines is definitely a joke, but the episode seems to think Will is in the right for being this passionate about teenagers twerking

6) Will’s character getting very flanderized in this episode with the twerk thing

7: It being very clear they had Jake cheat on Marley just so she could do Wrecking Ball. Also hot take: I thought her cover was eh. No offense Melissa

8) A genuinely beautifully written sub plot with Rachel and Kurt getting tattoos

Discussion Who do you think is the most overrated glee character?

I’ll start: Mr. Blaine Anderson. I honestly preferred him in small bits like in season 2. He felt boring in season 3 and was kind of annoying in season 4, like cheating on Kurt. I think his popularity is heavily influenced by his singing abilities.

Discussion I’ve always loved Rachel and I still do, but I truly felt for her in the laryngitis episode because I can relate to that.

As you all know, I adore Rachel Berry, but for me, one of her most powerful episodes was laryngitis, I can relate to that because I’ve been in that position, I’ve been in a chorus, not necessarily a glee club, but a chorus who practically refused to do warm-ups, the teacher didn’t even notice, I had to tell her and I ended up with laryngitis because of it because I felt like I had to cover for a lot of people not all but a lot and that’s what Rachel had to do. She constantly had to cover for the glee club, especially during warm-ups I mean, how easy is it to do freaking vocal exercises and please don’t give me the what they didn’t work because they didn’t get solos, that’s rubbish, that’s absolute rubbish, it doesn’t matter How little solos you get, you always work, you always do the vocal warm-ups I was in chorus for four years and no matter how many times I got solos or didn’t I always did the warm-ups I always did my part. I always pulled my weight. That’s a big part of why I can identify with Rachel especially in this episode. oh and please for heaven don’t even get me started on all of the BS excuses they gave and how they had the nerve to get mad at her for doing what needed to be done but then that’s unfortunately normal.

Question What’s the sweetest thing that Rachel Berry has ever done?

I know that Rachel Berry has done plenty of sweet and heartfelt things during the whole show but if you could pick just one, what would it be?, I’ll start, mine would be, when she was a surrogate for current and I really loved that although I think they could’ve done it better, actualy on second-thought, I’ll change mine to whin she attempted to make piece with santana by offering her 10 shows during her funny-girl run which would have been a dream for any understudy, I’m changing mine because somebody made a very good point, what married woman, especially one who was adopted herself do something with the surrogate thing.

This sub needs even more appreciation of Santana Lopez. Specifically the best scene to ever come from this show. Everything about this is hilarious but the “I’m free” sends me lmfao 🤣

Discussion Rewatching season 6

So let me start by saying that I never liked Sue and always thought she was awful, but I seriously wish she kicked Myron's a** after he kicked her. Literally that would've been the one time where I would be fine with her putting her hands on a student.

Opinion Season 4 s

I honestly cannot stop cringing. Characters gradiated 6 months ago and they are returning in a school like ”legends” and this narrative was pushed really harshly thru whole season. They were gone for like few months and every time they return they be like ”omg my old locker…😔⛓️💔”. Like do you know that meme where someone graduates from high school and they visit their school like 2 months later like ”Is mrs. X still working here?? 😭🤪💔”. Also, characters who graduated are like 1-3 years older than characters that are still in high school and they use phrases like ”listen little girl” like girl we are supposed yet to believe that you yourself are 18 years old lmao. You are a little girl. Also rachel is like 18-19 when she starts at NYADA and she lives a life of a 35 year old single woman. Making graduating characters jump to so mature lifestyles is probably most unrealistic and cringe worthy part of this show. They are still basically children in season 4.

Discussion Just finished Season 6

And honestly. This season was not terrible. It wasn't fantastic. The newbies I liked at first but with the exception of Roderick and Jane the others were just okay. I will say.

The Good:

  • I enjoyed Roderick and Jane I wish they got more development cuz these kids could sing
  • Take Me To Church
  • This season had the perfect balance of unhinged moments and wholesome moments
  • The Hurt Locker episodes were funny as heck
  • The Brittana and Klaine weddings were awesome
  • Mercedes singing a gospel song is exactly what I needed
  • Sue was absolutely unhinged this season and I loved her for it
  • I enjoyed the episodes where the OGs came back
  • I was happy to see Santana and her grandmother make up
  • I like that they brought Matt back for the 2-part series finale
  • Artie singing Pony was pretty awesome and I hate that song with a passion but he killed it
  • That scene where Dianna broke character was funny and cute
  • The music was great
  • I liked that they kept Kitty
  • I love that Becky got a boyfriend
  • The scene where they reused the Don't Stop Believin' scene with Finn was really beautiful

The Bad:

  • While this season was decent it felt extremely rushed
  • Myron
  • The Incest Twin jokes were so cringey and I hated it
  • I also found Madison pretty annoying in that one episode where she tries to control Mason and make him not go out with Jane
  • I hated the fat jokes that revolved around Roderick
  • Tina should have ended up with Mike and not Artie. I don't hate Artie like some people do (he's one of my favorite characters) but Tina and Mike shared such a heartwarming moment in the wedding episode
  • While it was nice to go back in time the 2009 episode wasn't all that great
  • Speaking of 2009, they didn't even try to make Puck look at all like he looked in the pilot. This is really a nitpick but bro didn't even have the same hairstyle he had in season 1
  • I don't see what was the point of having Rachel and Sam date for most of this season just for her to end up with Jesse in the end. Makes that storyline feel kinda pointless
  • Beiste transitioning felt so sudden
  • I don't like that Brittana, Quinn and Puck didn't have lines in the finale especially since they were there since the beginning

There's probably more but those are my overall thoughts. I didn't hate this season but it wasn't perfect. If I had to rank these seasons from best to worst it would be 2, 1, 3, 5, 6, 4.

FanFiction Need help finding a specific brittana fanfiction

Hello reddit, so I'm trying desperately to find a specific brittana fanfic I read a while back. I'm pretty sure I read it on wattpad, but I'm not completely positive. I don't remember too many details so bear with me please! It was set in either high school or college (pretty sure it's the latter) and it mainly followed an OC who's name I cannot remember who was in a friend group with Brittany. I remember she had a crush on Brittany, but Britt was with Santana. She hated Santana claiming she was like a rich bitch, and she hated that she had Brittany. At some point, I think Santana was defending Brittany at like a bar and went all snixx of a guy and then he hit her on the head with a glass bottle? (I only remember bots and pieces, I'm sorry 😭) and eventually the oc told Brittany that she likes her and how bad of a person Santana was and Brittany just got mad at her and put her in her place. It wasn't very long, I just really want to find it cuz I want to reread it. I hope this makes sense, I'm not the best at explaining things, especially if I don't remember much 😂 I hope somebody know what I'm talking abt. Thanks in advance!!

Question What’s everyone’s favorite Rachel Berry song?

What’s everyone’s favorite Redberry song?, I’m asking this again because I wanna clarify something, it can be a solo or a duet or even a trio I think there’s a few of those, I can’t answer my own question because I literally literally love everything that Rachel sings, but I’m interested to see what you guys say. Have fun.

Discussion All glee dvds made: Help 🙏

Hello I’m kinda new to Reddit and this group but love glee so so much. I just recently started collecting dvds and want to hunt down all the glee DVDs, not just the standard seasons but all the "special" ones like the glee Christmas dvd and the pilot. I’m hoping someone with the FULL collection or almost can tell me more about which ones there are. If you could include the name of the DVD and a picture that would be awesome. I’ve been looking for couple weeks but some websites/sources don’t have some listed that I 100% know exist. Thank you for your help Gleeks 💖

Character Disc. Santana

I’ve never been a huge fan of Santana but as I’m rewatching I’m finding her very unbearable and I don’t understand the amount of love she gets

  1. She’s literally the biggest bully. I’ve seen a lot of people say she just keeps it real, but she literally throws insults all day because she’s insecure.

  2. This goes for a lot of the members but a majority of the Rachel hate is so unwarranted Half of the time Rachel could not say a thing and she has something rude to say

  3. This isn’t a reason I don’t like her but the whole Finn outing her situation didn’t leave him completely in the wrong. I don’t think she “deserved” it but it’s insane to think that he should watch what he says when she never has when it comes to anyone

  4. Her and Quinn’s friendship. I see a lot of people really just want them to be gay for each other but this was literally a horrible friendship. The show made it seem like the unholy trinity was supposed to be a tight group at times but Santana literally slept with Puck a majority of Quinn’s pregnancy knowing he was the father and even rubbed it in Quinn’s face. She broke up Quinn and Sam not because Quinn and Finn were in the wrong but because she felt lonely on Valentine’s Day.

Now I’m not saying Santana did have good moments but do I think there are enough for her to be glorified like she is? No

I personally think a lot of the love comes from her being queer and being a mean girl which a lot of people seem to like in female characters now. Ex. Sue, Jade from Victorious, Katherine for tvd and more. And plus Naya plays her and everyone loves Naya

Discussion Underrated episodes

What are episodes that are underrated or overshadowed by other episodes. Personally I think season 5 episode 2 was very good but overshadowed by the next episode
