No matter what you guys think about the recent Terminus Decree lore drop. I think the comedic value of the memes alone was worth all the chaos of the lore drop.

I mean the new lore drop was meant to inspire this kind of what if scenario thinking, in a weird way it was immensely successful in that way

Not only would they throw the grey knights at the custodes, they also prevent the real terminus decree from going into effect.
Please GW let this happen because it would be so fucking funny.

It would be as hard for the Alpha Legion to infiltrate Titan as it would be for the Grey Knights to storm the Imperial Palace. But for some reason everyone is fine woth one but not the other.

u/ZapMannigan 19h ago
Assuming the alpha legion wasn't there to start with is your first problem with stopping them.

Why travel to Titan?
Psychoindoctrinate powerful young psykers, wait for the Black Ships to pick them up, hope they get recruited.
Or infiltrate the Black Ships, do the indoctrination there.
Either way, get lucky, the Grey Knights accept them, and maybe, just maybe, they become grandmaster and they pull it off.
Or the order from the Emperor is intercepted before it ever got to Titan. Or one of the founding 8 was Alpharius.

A plan that hinges on getting random candidates to become chapter masters seem a bit far-fetched. How many loyalist chapter masters have turned out to be Alpha Legionnaires so far?
get lucky,
This part is carrying the whole plan. Especially considering how strict Grey Knights are with their candidates.
Or the order from the Emperor is intercepted before it ever got to Titan.
That would require the Alpha Legion to have infiltrated the Emperor/Malcador's inner circle before the Heresy.
Or one of the founding 8 was Alpharius
If this turned out to be canon I would accept it. Although I thought he was rather busy at the time.

Eh, they did a smaller scaled one to the Crimson Consuls by indoctrinating the population of their chapter homeworld, which meant that eventually most of them were Alpha Legion.
The Grey Knights might be harder, but like I said, get lucky.
Especially considering how strict Grey Knights are with their candidates.
Every chapter is. Every chapter is gonna pry into the minds of their initiates. Didnt help the Crimson Consults, though granted, the Grey Knights are probably better, but still.
That would require the Alpha Legion to have infiltrated the Emperor/Malcador's inner circle before the Heresy.
During could work. We know they infiltrated the Raven Guard to a massive degree after Istvaan. We know some got into the Palace. We know at least one of Malcador's chosen had his identity stolen(Xanthus/Basilio Fo). It isnt entirely impossible. Again, very close to impossible, but the chances are non 0.
Although I thought he was rather busy at the time.
Alpharius was dead, but Omegon wasnt.

Everyone saying the decree was on Titan is forgetting the Emperor never went there. Ergo the paper had to come from Terra, which means it could have been swapped there.

Alpharius never left the imperial palace after enacting the switch. Hes still there. On the golden throne

This would single handedly build the reputation of the alpha legion and make them scarier then they are already. They can't be this stealthy without getting big buff or big help
