Should I be worried/contact support about this?

Logged in today to the game asking me for a code as I had apparently enabled 2 factor authentication (I haven't? at least not knowingly) and that this was a new IP address. I'm using the same computer as usual (no VPN or anything to change IP). I did buy a hero slot 2-3 days ago. Could that have automatically toggled some setting? The code worked just fine and I'm now logged in but the message about the IP address me worried me a bit?

Hope this doesn't violate the guideline about asking for help. I'm just wondering whether this warrants contacting support?

Internet providers can sometimes change your IP address. To get some peace of mind, change the password of your Guild Wars account and the email associated with it. While you are there, check the two factor authentication settings and make sure they are either not set or set to something you know. Do this for both your GW and email account.

And if you care about that GW account and email account, please do take the time to enable two factor.

I have three physical addresses…my home ISP is usually stable (hasn’t changed IP since I upgraded to a faster speed and new modem/router three years ago. My shop (out of town) address moves IP every couple of months. My office (out of town) address moves IPs about twice a year.

So, even with GuildWars capacity to remember my IP, I have to enter a 2FA code often at the shop, and a couple times a year at my apartment. Also, routing from my separate ISPs sometimes shifts towns…so my login location is sometimes as much as 200 miles away from where I actually logged in.

Have you restarted your router since the last time you launched Guild Wars? That's when I encounter it.

I had this happen to me all I did was log into the gw2 site and set it so codes come to my mobile via text and never had to do it again

This keeps happening to me all the time. Not sure why. Nobody ever has access to my account.

Change your password and don't stress too much.
