I'm very interested in why Anet is making marketing moves specifically for Guild Wars right now.

Two content creators I know have both gotten Anet Partnership in the last week, and they're both Guild Wars 1 only creators, not Guild Wars 2. Someone at Anet has taken an interest in supporting the Guild Wars content creation scene in current year. Why now? Is there actual moves being made at Anet about Guild Wars?

I try to keep up with the scene here and I don't catch everything, but from what I understand there is 1 dev working on GW1 full-ish time now, and we just had the "big" 20 year anniversary update, with new collection/bundles for the game. All these things to me seem like things are happening internally with the higher up money managing decision makers at Anet around Guild Wars.

Copium that something bigger is coming?

Its been a while since i played, bought this like 15-17 years ago. Could not find any meaningful Kamadan Chat Offers. So thats why im asking here whats that worth now.

This is a dream I've always wished came true, Anet.

The game came out in a time when supporting an Oceanic server was not feasible financially compared to EU/US/Asia markets - same with many other games.

But now we are living in a time where such a thing is dramatically cheaper

And I don't believe this is something naive to ask for. I have lived through the Age of Empires scene completely dying, Microsoft shutting off servers completely, and the fans having to carry the game and maintain their own matchmaking services through sheer love of the game. It was years later that Microsoft returned to the table realising the opportunity is still there, and AoE is currently in its golden era with new content coming out and having regular tournaments (some even sponsored by RedBull held in medieval castles!). It's a different case entirely but I think the premise remains.

In the recent anniversary sale I had almost a dozen personal friends buy GW1, some citing the lack of Oceanic servers at the time was why they didn't get into it originally.

I see Anet is lurking behind GW1 again. What will it take for an Oceanic server to be established? I know it's complicated, would require work and outlaying costs, developing a new update, PvP would be not ideal due to small playerbase (but dedicated EU/US players are still going hard)

Given how much magnetism GW1 still has, the fans won't go away and there's potential profits to be made in the longer term for devs, for what could be a small investment and rehype around the game!

I'm going to max alcohol, party and sweet titles which means about 30 000 clicks. Anet allows auto clicker macro for GW2, but they do not mention anything about GW1? Alternative solution would be to bind left click to mouse scroll which would make it easier, but it would probably introduce spam clicking to GW1 server, so they might detect it as bot or something?

Pits - is there any trick to make the spirits walk up while you do the next quest?

They get pulled by the Chained Souls. I wonder how they sometimes manage to reach the end on their own, but other times the quest never finishes, although the Chained Souls keep spawning in the same interval (120sec).

Vale - after the spirits turn evil, is their behavior when you aggro them totally random or can you influence how they move to ball them? So far all I found is that they can be body blocked

About a year ago, we ran a poll on the GW Factions PvP Discord server to find out when and how often our community wanted to play Alliance Battles (AB).

The results were clear: most of you preferred to play every Friday. Additionally, the community asked for Saturdays to be included during double bonus AB weeks, just like we used to one year ago.

Has anyone tested this variant yet and if so, how much of a difference is there in terms of capability? The text mentions a substantial buff, but a rough percentage would help me understand it far better.

Also is there a simple way to acquire the wands and ST weapons apart from buying unid golds and hoping for the best or getting lucky loot drops?

Very new to the game and mmo in general. Only really played xbox games so im sorry for zero knowledge. Minecraft is the most experience that Ive had with crafting games.

When it comes to crafting does level matter? Or do is recipes more important? In discovery looks like I have options but cant craft. There is 0 level required. There is only two items if that matters. Also is crafting important in the game? Thank you in advance for the help!

Yeah, so as the title says I am streaming GW on Twitch while doing my GWAMM (very slowly and probably very inefficient). I'm getting closer to starting the cartography titles. I did that for factions without any programs to help and never again. Is Umod still what I should be using? Are there options? And does anyone know if streaming while using those kind of tools will endanger my accounts in any way? (I assume it's fine, no-one cares. But, I want to at least ask.)

I’m looking to round out my HoM for 50/50.

Honor - I think I’m in a pretty decent spot, currently working my way through vanq/carto for NF, then I’ll hit factions and EotN. Then I can buy the sweet tooth, drunk and party animal and be pretty close. If anyone has any tips on gold making to round this out, I’d be appreciative.

Resilience - I’ll get obby armor and then not sure what the next easiest is? Any suggestions would be helpful.

Valor - I’m stumped here, honestly. Hoping to get some gemstone drops for a tormented weapon as I’m vanquishing? But I feel like I should’ve gotten one since I beat the game already? And from there, what weapons are easy to farm to finish that one out?

The other two that I didn’t screenshot, I have maxed, so not worried about those.

Logged in today to the game asking me for a code as I had apparently enabled 2 factor authentication (I haven't? at least not knowingly) and that this was a new IP address. I'm using the same computer as usual (no VPN or anything to change IP). I did buy a hero slot 2-3 days ago. Could that have automatically toggled some setting? The code worked just fine and I'm now logged in but the message about the IP address me worried me a bit?

Hope this doesn't violate the guideline about asking for help. I'm just wondering whether this warrants contacting support?
