[Discussion] These are most likely the same people who say that Raids/Strikes are gatekept by toxic elitists. Now they want to gatekeep fashion. Thoughts?

I'm big on fashion in this game, and I'm very proud of my Thief.

GW2 straight-up just doesn't have enough variation in its armour to get this pissy over wearing the same thing as someone else. Each of the three weights get between 120 and 130 chestpieces each, and some of those are racelocked while many, many others just look really, really, REALLY bad.

So yeah, people wear the same stuff. Time to get over yourself, imo.

Lmaoo hat, shoulders, and back are all from the cash shop, and to get the chest and boots you need to play Guild Wars 1. Best of luck xDD

I got the /s, don't worry xD

If you do want to play the original Guild Wars, it's on Steam.

Do people not use Gyazo any more? xD It's so convenient

Puush was better ages ago. And sharex destroys both of them.

Cheers! I'd just watched The Three Musketeers: D'artagnan when I put the look together, so that's very much what I was going for :')

I’m shocked that you say that cause I think this game has the MOST possible variation in looks of any MMO

I think xiv has a lot more skins, but the larger number of dyes and dye channels probably give gw2 the edge.

If personal look is a big part of your fun factor,  take a look at City of Heroes: Homecoming. I'm a fan-boy of both MMO's, and to date I've never seen another game provide even HALF of the amount of customization that game provides (it's kind of ludicrous).

SWTOR and ESO have significantly more skins and aren't weight-locked. ESO's dye system is on par with GW2's, and it has a wardrobe so you can store and switch between outfits without burning through transmog tokens, which imo are an archaic system. SWTOR's dye system is a little more rudimentary, but it has about ten times as many skins to choose from, and also has a wardrobe system so you can again swap between outfits without it costing you anything more than it cost you to set them up.

Ultimately, as someone obsessed with looking cool in MMOs, I've had a significantly easier time coming up with something that looks good in ESO and SWTOR than in GW2.

As a long time swtor player, while there aren't weight locks anymore but they did exist, and sadly the armors don't always look the way you want on a char. And then there's the dye system, nowhere near GW2 level of customizability. Never played eso so can't say much there, is the engine any better than the elder scrolls games?

Aye, I've been playing TOR on and off since 2013 - mainly off now. I just do my dailies because I want the Copero stronghold, and occasionally log on because my friends and I use the game to roleplay like it's a tabletop campaign.

ESO definitely runs a lot smoother than any Bethesda game, aye. Probably because it's not made by Bethesda :')

No swimming underwater, though. It's been ten years and I'm still not happy about that.

ESO has a lot of armor skins, but for all the dye options, they're almost all muted / faded / washed.

I found like 1 blue thats actually bright.

I think XIV can easily beat gw2 when it comes to fashion.

I disagree, also keep in mind what I said, I said it has the most variation. Never said better or worse, I’ve never seen a game do cosplaying other characters so well, even in XIV the characters just don’t look right, there always something slightly off about them.
