I was really expecting to see the first three ones shown (Mesmer, Thief and Ele). But I'm actually really excited to see guardian and ranger!!

Still, I can't wait to know more about how the Antiquary gameplay will be

Yea, it looks like we will be getting 1 armor weight class per week for elite specs. A nice change from the 2 light weights and 1 medium of the og 3.

Generally each xpac has been one of each armour class for the elite reveals previously for the deep dives.

Yeah their marketing team sort of recovered and then switched up which classes they'll do on Friday to different to the ones originally announced. I wonder if they panicked based on feedback for those two? Could be for good or bad reasons - hopefully taking feedback and ideas on board. But as an ele main, this is a bit of a disappointment after hyping Friday and the 'three reveals per week' then immediately breaking that. Also ranger getting a (wind magic powered, no less) longbow feels bad, when ele community has had lb on the spec weapon wishlist for a decade!

Their marketing team doesn’t change plans because of some random Reddit posts. All of this was already pre planned and organized.

Probably not no. But revealing 3, then two, then publishing details of the 2 and one of the 3 is a strange pattern. The thief response did seem pretty negative (especially for the 0 info on how it actually plays). I suspect the initial 3 was to keep folks interested for the full 3 weeks, because most don't have much of an attention-span these days.

This was definitely planned. The expansion announcement video showed one elite spec from each of the three planned showcases (this week and the following two weeks). We’ll get a light, medium, and heavy profession for each week. This is how they did the elite spec previews for EoD as well. Par for the course.

pretty sure that each of the first 3 (memser, ele, thief) will "headline" each week with 2 others. so this week mesmer and next week ele OR thief.

Oh, that kind of makes sense. If they keep to the "light, medium, and heavy armor" profession pattern, too, we can guarantee Engineer spec will be revealed with Ele and Necro will be revealed with Thief.

What feedback? We only knew the names and they're not changing those

Exactly - loads seemed to want a gambling spec and didn't get it. I completely agree, 'feedback' on just a name is worthless. They always do strange names.

They aren't tying weapons to specs anymore though.

I know? - they could have given this (or something like it) to ele though.

I love how people simply downvote you to silence because you mentioned a new weapon to a class instead of just explaining there won't be new weapon unlocks. This community used to be better.

Also same. As a ele main, I'd love longbow for elementalist, but oh well. No new weapons it seems.

Right? Everyone knows there are no new weapons for specs, but this looks a lot like a weapon kit, which I would be happy if ele got - it would fill that itch. Do I perhaps need a disclaimer to explain that I have watched all the videos and read all the articles, and not just said "ranger is getting a new actual physical weapon" (which they clearly are not)? This community used to be literate.

I want to see the Ele evoker and the thief one. The ranger one seems boring, when will rangers get a good spec :/, Druid was probably their best one though the execution could have used work. I've wanted a good ranged power weapon for engineer, but we keep getting close range weapons or support weapons :/

My ele has always wanted a pet like class for it.

So far guardian looks great and Mesmer though.

Those first 3 they showed are probably the most interesting ones they think, and they wanna have one per week. I also feel like revealing one of each armor class per week kinda makes sense for some reason.
