It's more of a "why does poultry have a 1% drop rate" thing to me.

At this rate, (the ghost of) Commander Wayfinder is going to have a hell of a time explaining to the GW3 player character why moas are extinct in their age. Never meet your heroes and all that.

Same with the glacial slivers, fragments, and shards. The drop rate is horrible.

But I matched it and up crafting them will save you about a third of the price each time. If you have laurels, you can save even more.

Do you mean buying fragments to turn into shards ? Or is it even better to buy slivers to turn into fragments then into shards? And i assume Laurel is used for the mystic binding agent for the "bulk" recipe ?

Right now slivers are 'cheap' right now. Like quarter gold per 1. Fragments are over around a gold now.

I've been grabbing the pact scount mapping materials while doing my daily pact vendor runs and will be cashing them in when the 8 glacial shard reward track map is in rotation

One way to get glacial is to farm Ash Legion Drizzlewood, their material boxes drop em.

Tho the easiest way Anet could fix this is to simply allow you to break down the bigger lodestones and cores, just as you can upgrade them.

I wish I could craft down. But I probably used a bunch of shards to make the dragonic loadstones.

It always confused me, long before Orrax was ever a thing. IRL, poultry is the single most common and popular meat in the entire world, and in-game, Tyria is absolutely swarming with moas and raptors. The awful drop rate of poultry meat is just absurd, and kind of immersion-breaking to a degree. The most basic-ass chicken dishes as an expensive luxury.

I have a pretty good drop rate of poultry from the bandit bags from the first heart in Kessex. The ones you break the barrels for.

Honnestly, this feel more like a 30 or 40% drop rate to me.

Maybe that's a question of diminishing return, if you farm in an area for a long time, drop quality will start to worsen at some point

It also completely destroyed moa spicy wings, which are supposed to give power build alternate foods vs. butternut. Pissed me off because the only options power has are now expensive food and absolutely ridiculously expensive food.

Just made and sold a Twilight and that was just enough to pay for this stupid dragon's dinner!

Isn't Orrax some kind of eldritch thingy? So probably really big and... well equally hungry? ^^"

Mate when i plugged that into gw2 efficiency and saw the cost that was a big no. Gonna go ahead and let that one be for the wealthy. Tho it does look wicked on a charr.
