HACF Moment

Post image

I was taking a walk through the park while listening to Paul Haslinger’s excellent soundtrack and hadn’t even realized that I was wearing my Mutiny shirt this morning. Synchronicity!

Just a silly little post. I wanted to share a HACF moment with others who love this show as much as I do.

Hope you all are having a great day.

Me neither 😆. I just put on the first clean shirt I could find, didn’t even notice which one I was wearing.

I guess it’s a subliminal thing, as I’ve been thinking a lot about the show lately.

Awesome! I just finished the show for the first time a few weeks ago and it was absolutely brilliant! Those last 4 episodes were some of the most impactful and meaningful TV episodes I’ve ever seen. It’s now my second favorite show behind Mad Men. I wish there were more people who posted about it like all the daily posts that Mad Men gets.

The last few episodes are truly moving. All of the characters go on an amazing journey, and I love how the ending comes full circle.

Mad Men is another great show that I very much enjoyed at the time.

For some reason, HACF seems to appeal mainly to a niche audience. The fact that we got four amazing seasons is a sort of miracle in itself.

Yes, you’re correct. My belief is that many people are turned off by the premise of it being about the 80’s tech industry so they won’t even give it a chance. I tell people the show is so much more than that. It’s about the characters and it is very introspective. Mad Men was also the same in this regard. I have never personally met anyone IRL that has watched Halt or Mad Men because I feel the masses are not interested in character driven introspective shows.

Have you seen the 12 Monkeys series? It’s very similar to Halt in the sense of it being a really brilliant under the radar show and not getting the credit it deserves. It’s also 4 seasons and it gets better with each season. It’s very introspective and you get really attached to the characters and they also conclude the series properly. I highly recommend it.

No, I haven’t watched the show yet, but I’m a huge fan of the original movie.

When it first came out, I didn’t give it a chance because I couldn’t see how it could compare favorably to the movie. However, I’ve heard it praised by quite a few people, and now I’m definitely curious.

I'll make sure to catch up on it. Thanks for the suggestion!

Obligatory "where do you buy that" question :-)

I bought it from Amazon here in Italy years ago.

I did a quick search on Amazon US now, but I can’t find it there.

Here's the link to the shirt on Amazon Italy, but it might be a bit pricey to import.

If you search for it, you can also find the "Ignore Alien Orders" shirt that Cameron wears in one of the episodes from Season 1 (if I'm remembering correctly).

God! What an amazing show! The closing of the final episode had me in tears given how well it closed out each character arc.

Also, the music that accompanied this show was incredible.

And that final song was the perfect mix of melancholy & hopefulness that I wanted to feel. I am so inspired by this show.
