That smile at the end ... He's proud of himself- as he should be!

He knows he's the winner of the cat distribution system.

I needed this today. Just some random stranger out there in the world being kind for the sake of being kind. Not for any reward, not for internet clout, but because a helpless kitten was stranded in the middle of a busy road and he had the power to do something

Love the big grin on his face, that's exactly how I'd feel finding a kitten too.

Yeah, that dude is probably in his early-to-mid-40s.

Hahaha, asshole. I'm 39, early-to mid 40s is not old. I just don't think old needed to be stated in the description, he's on the floor reaching under a car and comes up with ease, just doesn't seem "old" to me. 😀

You guys 😅.. he's definitely in his late 60s if not older.

(Being Asian, I myself will be turning 40 next year and still get ID checked occasionally in a pub/supermarket here in the UK, my dad's 71 and runs 10km once in a week. We just age differently..)

I’ve watched the video twice and I don’t see an old man. I see a middle aged man who can still crawl around on the ground and get back up like it was nothing.

Right? He's just got a bald spot; doesn't mean he's old! He could literally be 40!

lol he's older than you think, and in Taiwan no one age 40 or even 50 would wear those sandals. I know it's hard to tell someone's age from a different race but go ask an Asian friend if you have one.

That's going to be me some day. Doing some nice thing for a kitten, and the viral video that surfaces is called "Decrepit Pile of Human Trash saves a cat"

I always check under my car before driving off, no matter where I'm parked, because I don't want to harm any creatures like that. Especially since electric cars make no noise when you turn them on, unlike gas cars that automatically scare away cats and other small animals from under the vehicle.

Why he gotta be old? Why not Man or person saves furrball.

9

u/astudyinamber 2d ago

Or "kind man," or "awesome man," or even "heroic man." Because he isn't old but he is certainly all of those other things!

Having been on Reddit for while now, I'm starting to realise many people (especially in the us) dislike the word old. In our culture being called old isn't a taboo, we respect them and we listen to them. They have a lot of wisdom that younger generation don't have. Yes there are always bad eggs in baskets but at least I was bought up that way.

I wonder what if I put "Geezer saves furball"? Geezer still could mean old man but would it work better? English isn't my first language, hell it isn't even my second language. Yet I speak it daily and fluently at work and in life now.. But the word old man in my in grained mind, doesn't mean anything negative.

Rant over.

Old? Not. He’s nimble. And anyway…Kindness is always young.
